I think he tried to give her a vision about how disappointed her dad would be. Steve's daughters aren't gap-legged like most females. His daughters are well versed women of dignity. I wish my father would have taken care of his children and wife and my mom would be alive. Instead of using us for government assistance. But he was abusive everyday like a slave master. I hate the mentality of dating to marry. You either marry them or not. It's called getting to know someone. Getting to know someone while dating is only touching the surface of knowing another person, let alone a significant other. I wouldn't say don't take Steve's advice because everyone has their own experiences and perspectives. Good for him if marrying someone before living together worked better for him. Despite, being married multiple times. You do get to know someone better if you live together prior to marriage. I have two friends who are in their thirties and have been together for about ten years. Recently, they got engaged to each other after being with each other for so long and living together for two years, probably more. Personally, I think that is how I would determine if whether or not I would want to marry my significant other. Having love solely and unconditionally for someone doesn't mean you'll be happy together in marriage, let alone living with them. That's why relationships are testy and shaky. It does take work and progress and cudos to couples who got married before living with each other, as well as to those who lived with each other prior to marriage. Like Steve said "People live together, that happens. But it is not the way I would do it."

People want to live that type of lifestyle, because they want their cake and eat it too. They don't want to fully make a commitment at that moment, but want all of the benefits that comes with it. Men that are not in Christ have came up with this type of mindset, and society have encouraged women to settle. And teaching them to not know their worth. Women must learn their worth and value, and know that they have options, and that they don't have to settle. That they can be happy, blessed, and single if need be until God send the one that He have for them. If it is apart of His will. Things would be so much better for us if we would believe in and trust God, His will, His timing, and develop a healthy relationship with Him and self before we worry about doing anything else.

It uses only takes a few months of dating for me, and then I cut them off once I see the red flags. Of course, during this time I keep my legs closed, so the red flags are easier to see. But he is wasting her time IMO.

Even though my ex did some foul stuff by trying to live with me, I’m glad I saw the light and put him out. He tried to call it “spending the night” had no clue he lost his place and had a family behind my back. He didn’t want to grow up. He was trying to use me and thought this was a convenience store. He got put TF out. He had an amazing job and quit and turned in his car and thought I loved him enough to take care of him talking about he wanna be in the music industry 😐43 years old and wanting to be in that industry.
