A surprise for me. Certainly Serge eventually played keyboards and guitar with Leonid, but I did not imagine him as a solid basic musical support for a singer. Polina is a very young voice with an enormous number of possibilities (Polina is living now in Haiffa, Israel). And Pink Floyd songs, what can we say! A very attractive video. Thank you
I see this is from 2 years ago. He dedicated the video to the survivors of Chernobyl (which he says is a 2 hour drive from his home) I hope things are going well with him and his family, I don't see any recent posts from him. This song is interesting to have the same singer cover the main lyrics as well as the "screaming woman" parts. I think it worked out well. Talented young lady.
Jeff you mentioned "Don't Dream It's Over" by Serge. I just went over and listened to it. Just amazing. It's him and his keyboard with a ton of emotion. The lyrics are sort of haunting considering his situation. Several people who've recently commented on the video have asked him to let his audience know he's okay, but I see the last entry on his Facebook page is at the end of January. Perhaps he no longer has access to communications. If so, I hope that's all it is.
Nice production. I especially liked the keyboards in the background. Her voice handles the technical aspects of the song but, frankly, I think it requires a man's voice to do it true justice. There are certain things only a man can do and only a woman can do vocally in terms of octaves reached, timbre and delivery - unless, you are a man, a man who is named Dimash! But, nevertheless, it was a delightful performance executed by performers of the highest, most rarefied caliber sharing with us a peek into the deep reservoirs of their talents. (Jeff, you do realize, I hope, that it is the environment of creativity that you and your channel and the way you have - undoubtedly with good intentions aforethought! - structured it - that help inspire me to write the way I do when I do write like that! I never know what I am going to say anymore - it just happens - these days like "breathing out and breathing in" based on the inspiration of the moment.)
Loved her voice and of course Serge is so talented. However, I was never a fan of Pink Floyd and this song just doesn't do much for me. That said, nobody asked for my reaction!
