Thanks for the video! So everything worked perfect for me until I disarmed the GPS rescue to take back control.. it turned my motors off just like if I actually disarmed! What am I missing??

I will receive this quad in a few days (my first one !) and I was thinking about how to configure this failsafe :) So huge thanks. One question however: in your video, you configured the RTH on a switch. Is this possible to automatically activate it when the quad lose the transmiter signal for example ? Thanks.
Yes, watch about 2:40 in the video where I switch the failsafe procedure from "drop" to "gps rescue". This is how it will activate in case of receiver failsafe or "lose signal" as you said.
Albert sorry for leaving such a notebook earlier which receiver do you recommend because I can't do any flashing right now to any receivers, so what would be a good receiver for me to use my jumper tealight on this got decent range I'll go through your link I'm going to buy the Darwin through your link as well
This one on Frsky D8 will get you about 500m to 1000m range. It's SBUS as well so will work with the plug on the FC of the Darwin129. You may need to swap the plug as they might be different sizes. bit.ly/3qVnYOQ

Firstly thank you for your great in-depth video. I just wanted to ask, what does it mean when the quad starts to drop altitude after initiating return to home ? I was out testing my quad and was at 100 meter distance and once I switched to return to home (fail safe) it started to descend from that distance? i thought it was supposed to descend closer to the home point ? I have my settings set up the same as yours. Thanks in advance 🙏

Just came here to give you a 👍🏻 & ask, why my 8” quad with DJI will fall out from the sky with GPS rescue RTH? My quad at the esge of my DJI video signal pixeled gave a RTH then did a 180 and fail safed to the ground
There are a LOT of reasons that could happen. Were you closer than 100m away when RTH was triggered? Do you have failsafe properly setup from transmitter to receiver? Those are the two most common ways this can happen. There are about 20-30 more ways this can fail but you'll have to read the wiki page to get more details.

@@AlbertKimTV hey Albert I ordered several things through your things so you could get your little commission from pyrodrone oh, man this is the worst place to order anything from I have ordered over almost $600 worth of stuff just this weekend from Thursday through this weekend and everything that I have purchased from them that I have paid extra I'm talkin 50 something dollars on one of the USPS and late everything matter fact it's got some of them saying it's going to be substantially late I should have bit the bullet and ordered it through eBay we would have costed more but I know one thing for sure into a certain I would be getting it they're not fixing to send this now they're going to do what most places do say shipment lost they can't find it don't know where it's at two weeks later I had a specific date and time because I'm moving from where I'm at so man please don't recommend this to nobody because it would be just as it is for me it's the worst place it is to order from ever I have ever ordered from in my nine years of ordering off the internet
Hi Albert, when you switch your gps recue switch in betaflight does it highlight it like the other switch to indicate it’s ON? I’m setting up the gps on my sector d5 and the gps rescue is not highlighted. The bar moves but it does not highlight. Now I’m not sure if it’s working or not. Is there a setting I’m missing?
It won't highlight unless the conditions allow it to activate. If you try that with the arm switch with USB plugged in, you'll see the same thing, though don't try that with props on!
So if your not testing GPS rescue and you want it working as normal u don't have failsafe on a switch and sanity check tab is turned ON.. is that correct?
Yeah manually toggle the switch. However, if your connection is restored, it may switch out for you. It will depend on the receiver, so you should test this before going too far.
hello Albert, I am piloting with my DJI radio and would like to know if your RESCUE GPS setup (set to Failsafe only) is working if I lose signal or video?
I'm using a crossfire receiver and not the DJI radio. You can test failsafe on the bench and also make sure your aux channel for gps rescue is set to activate on the failsafe tab.
Hi, nice video. If you fly past RX of the transmitter will it automatically enter GPS return mode, or do you have to flip a switch? If so, and there’s no Tx signal how does that work?
When it enters failsafe (assuming RX was setup correctly), GPS rescue is triggered automatically. Most problems happen when the RX failsafe is not setup properly and the FC doesn't know that it needs to trigger GPS rescue.
Nice one sir. Just setup my new HGLRC M80. I tested outside without props about 10 mt far. I am getting 14 sat but I am not getting home arrow on my DJI goggles and as you said i have assigned a fail safe switch to test but when switch is activated the motors stops spinning. When i flick the GPS rescue swithch when armed the motors are spinning fast that means rescue mode is working but on fail safe mode motors stop spinning. My 3D fix shows true. Any clue sir need help. Today i walked about 100mts with the quad and checked with the same result
You need to place the home arrow element on the screen in the OSD tab to see the home arrow in the goggles. Sometimes you have to fly about 100m away to see it work properly. It may not at close distance. If you activate GPS rescue within 100m of the home point, it will fall out of the sky. The motors stopping is correct. You have to be more than 100m away for rescue to work properly. I recommend you read over everything in the wiki page. Looks like you missed a lot of stuff.
You don't have it set up "exactly" the same way! You've probably just overlooked something obvious so go over all the settings again and definitely take a look at the wiki guide for additional information.
