Don't worry about reversing, when you worry you overthink and that makes it harder on you. I've been Class 1 for 17 months and it does take time to get used to reversing. You've already mentioned the same mistakes I did such as too much lock etc, we've all made the same mistakes. Believe me, one day you'll come to a place you hate reversing in and out of the blue you'll be inch perfect out of the blue. You're already doing better than I did when I first started, be pleased with yourself.
Nice honest review 👍 I struggle with blind side reversing, it's just a ball ache to see what's going on, even worse in the dark. Companies invest so much money on systems to protect the public, side cameras, indicator warnings etc etc, you'd think by now that all trailers and units would have a reversing camera aid to assist the driver.
Night shift, defined as midnight to 4am is limited to 10 hours unless there is a workforce/collective agreement in place. As far as maximum hours you should refer to drivers hours rules and the working time directive. You can work 15 hours and drive for 10 with the necessary breaks. There are limits on frequency of each but be careful just telling your employer what you can/can’t do. It’s worth discussing any concerns or questions with your employer as it’s in their interest (operators license and employment law) to help you stay within the rules.
Merc's steering wheel adjustment is a pedal above the left foot rest. If your ever in a volvo steering wheel adjustment is a pedal right side near accelerator pedal.

the more you worry about the reversing the worse your reversing will be on the day.take your time and dont try and be smart because people are looking..if you need 20 shunts on the day then take 20 shunts
Don't worry to much about the reversing the more you do the better you get, if some cretin is trying to rush you tell him to f**k off and try and avoid blind side reversing if possible it doesn't matter how many years your doing it this manoeuvre is asking for trouble, relying on a 6" mirror 9 foot away and judging 50' behind you normally doesn't end well if you have to do it get out and visually look during the manoeuvre and take your time
Sadly and badly, it's rather all too common to find defective vehicles that firms insist their self-serving interpretation of road traffic laws says drivers must drive, in reality of VOSA, unlawfully! Another fact is that pay is deducted if you want to stay legal!
