I'm from the Bay (N. California) and in 91/92, we were up here wondering when LA/SoCal was finally going to that damn curl go. Those juicy locs were holding on for dear life down there. 😂 They not only continued to rock a curl well past it's time, Hi-C went made a "f* you" song for anyone who didn't like it. That is some serious ass dedication & commitment. 🤣🤣 Nah, seriously I love how 90s raps was so regionally distinctive. LA didn't sound like the Bay, the Bay didn't sound like the South, the South didn't sound like NY etc. It was like taking an urban cultural tour learning slang, dances etc. from other areas.
