Today Jason discusses the recent situation surrounding Microsoft and Bethesda. Particularly the fact that Tango Gameworks (creator of Ghostwire Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush) and Arkane (creators of Dishonored and Redfall) are being completely removed from existence. This comes after previously Microsoft itself saw cut backs, and it seemed obvious that Bethesda's bloated workforce would get cut. However, choosing a studio in Arkane that had one bad game, and Tango Gameworks which had 0 bad games, just bangers to delete. Very sad to see these studios shut down, especially Tango Gameworks. Last year Microsoft even bragged about how successful Hi-Fi Rush was, so why shut down that studio. Plus Xbox needed Japanese games to help diversify their first party lineup. I hope Microsoft doesn't take the axe to Obsidian, since i love their games.

Totally agree, Hi-Fi Rush was one of our top games last year due to how unique and fun it was. I too hope they don't chop anymore studios that I like, I get cutting staff or cancelling certain titles but cutting the entire studio seems wild to me

Been listening to the Hi-Fi Rush soundtrack all week before I heard the news. Not surprised though. Microsoft is the worst company in the industry by far.

@@Ihelpertricks How exactly is Sony the worst? Think what you want about exclusivity, but at least they put out games. Xbox doesn't put out anything. Their only contribution is closing down beloved studios and killing physical media. Sony also funds successful projects like Stellar Blade, No Man's Sky, and Shenmue III. Last Xbox funded project I can think of is Scalebound, which almost made Platinum Games shut down. Neither are good, but Microsoft is the most evil by far.

Playstation and Xbox both suck but I don't see Playstation closing down successful studios. Xbox sets a bar for Tango, they hit that bar, and they still get shutdown. Xbox has made their plans at this point public. They are moving towards a publisher first approach which as indicated by the shutdown of Arkane and Tango. Xbox doesn't care who they shutdown if doesn't make money inspite of the fact they do a tweet and call that marketing than Xbox will close you down. Playstation will invest heavily in marketing and with Stellar Blade, Phantom Blade, and Wo Kong, along with Final Fantasy VII Part 2 all this year I find it hard to back Xbox when they don't provide any exclusives and even when they do it will be on PS5 at some point because of them wanting to be a publisher. Playstation messed up with Helldivers 2 but still provide quality games at least 4 or 5 a year. Xbox gives us a broken Halo game.

@@SmokinSessions I don't think Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo are good, but PlayStation is the only one that isn't outright malicious, at least in my experience. As you said, people get annoyed with PlayStation "buying exclusivity" but at least they are FUNDING the games and not outright buying the entire studio just to shut it down years later. I am salty over what happened to Japan Studio, but that studio was bleeding money for over a decade. Helldivers thing was annoying but at least it's not Xbox charging gamers for Xbox Live on top of an FF14 subscription, or Nintendo shutting down the only means to play 3DS games. Though, I don't follow a lot of news, so maybe PlayStation did something else that is super evil. All in all, Valve wins by doing absolutely nothing yet again.

If you're meming it is a funny back to back statement lol But if ur serious Universally loved is a figure of speech meaning the vast majority of people loved something. If it only meant literally everyone in the universe loved it then the phrase would never ever be used lol

Then it would never accurately be used when in reference to things people like especially with games. No game ever had been or ever will be universally loved. Nothing will. Some people don't like to drink water, I don't even understand that one. Yet people still use the phrase "universally loved". So sorry bout this one but ya just wrong there lol It's funny tho because he praises the game and says how loved it is only to immediately state he doesn't like the game. It's ironic. Btw I'm rocky I'm the second guy on this channel the commentator is Jason. Regardless I'm not gonna argue further bout it just think it's a fun little semantics argument. Thanks for stoppin by!

@@SmokinSessions Humans are universally imperfect and the undereducated are no exception. People use words and idioms incorrectly every day. (shrug) No hate, I will admit I skipped out at that point in the video because of it but regardless good luck, I wish y'all the best.
