For over forty years, Alanis Obomsawin has kept her camera focused on the lives of First Nations people in Canada. In that time she has made nearly 40 documentary films for Canada's National Film Board, most famously, "Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance" about the 1990 Oka crisis in Quebec. Her latest work for the National Film Board of Canada is titled "Hi Ho Mistahey", which will be screening at upcoming film festivals in Ottawa and Montreal, and in Toronto. She talks to Jian about her life's work and her latest efforts to draw attention to what she sees as the government's shocking neglect of Aboriginal youth education.
