She chose not to do things rather than being one of those actors that will do anything for money. And she went beyond that into directing and producing.
You act as if people are ancient at 61 lol. A lot of people look good in their 60s and even 70s. It's a matter of lifestyle choices - if you choose to treat yourself and your body badly you will look bad, if you choose to treat yourself and your body well then you will also look well in old(er) age.
I dare anyone to point out to me someone with more talent and more class than Jodie Foster. By far the greatest actress of my generation, and yet so down to earth!
@@kencairns532 Remove that godawful peace sign. Easy to be ''pacifist'' when your home is not invaded and relentlessly attacked. Do you know what war is? Do you think attacked countries chose to be at war? No, we don't. It's preposterous to put a peace sign while there are genocidal invasions happening in the world.
The Silence Of The Lambs is the by far one of the greatest acted and scariest movies of all time!! I went to the movie theater to see it as an adult and when I got home I checked under my bed. Jodi and Anthony Hopkins were just the most dynamic duo and it will be a long time before anything out of Hollywood can match it!
Famously, all the major figures in the project were second-choices. Demme wasn't even on the studio's initial list of preferred directors, they wanted Gene Hackman to play Lecter and they wanted Michelle Pfieffer as Starling. Sometimes, fate just throws the right people together.
OMG! Yes! Nobody could have played her character! That role was made for her! And then I saw her in “Contact”, and she’s been my dream woman ever since! I also love the fact that she is letting herself age with grace! She looks so much better than those botched surgery Barbie dolls, who need their looks cuz they don’t even have 1/10 of the talent that she does!
Do you think there's one single hollywood star that is natural 100%???, I would love it was true but I'm afraid is not. She looks great, looks "natural", but, Is she?
Absolutely LOVE Jodie Foster! She is so talented and gets more beautiful by the day! She seems so sweet and the kind of friend you would love to be around. I respect that she has kept her private life private and I’m happy for all of her successes. Love you so much, Jodie!
Jodie Foster is an extraordinary actor. Her presence on screen is intense. She puts her all in every role she puts herself into. I love "The Accused", "Silence of the Lambs" and I also loved her in "Maverick".
I’ve always loved Jody! I followed her in the 70s as a kid, and I only grew to respect her even more! I respect her privacy. Everybody deserves their own place of happiness! She’s a fine example of a very strong woman and mother! She has earned her spot in Hollywoods finest! ❤ We love you, Jody!
Jodie is so damn cool, and an absolute icon, a word that is thrown around too freely these days. If asked who I would want to have dinner and hang with, out of any living person, I think Jodie would be my answer. Such an inspiration and so much to learn from her.
That was a wonderful interview. Jodie Foster's been my absolute favorite actress since I was about 10 years old and that has never changed throughout the years. Love, love her!
She should receive the Kennedy center honors and afi life achievement award for her contributions to the film industry for decades both in front and behind the camera
Silence of the Lambs was also my favourite...altho' I believe Anthony Hopkins stole the show there . I have to mention "Carnage". Jodie plus Winslet and Waltz, funny but actually had a serious message.
I’m really appreciating the addition of people’s degrees in the intros. A great reminder that the guests are humans who have worked hard to get where they are. ❤
She seems so happy. Im so glad. While she attended Yale, I never saw her or heard about her once. I worked in foentown NH for 30 years. She is a treasure. Motherhood agrees with her.
This lovely lady has ALWAYS,as long as I’ve been watching movies, been my absolute favorite actress ever. She’s talented, smart, gorgeous, and real. Can’t do better than that.
I have always loved her work and her as a person. We forget how much of a total badass trail blazer she is. I always make an effort to see whatever work she is involved in. She is the rare example of when acting is an actual art. 😊🙌🏾
I grew up with Jodie Foster, didn't get it when she was young, but as an adult she is Fricking amazing in everything. How do we love these people anymore?
On "Actors on Actors" w/Robert Downey Jr she said she has no interest in competing with her younger self. And she is finding acting to be much different ( in a good way ) as a result.
She just gets better as time goes by. I've always loved her depth and unique beayty aside from insane talent! I've been wanting to watch her show, this is my sign!
I’m just glad her face still moves. When I saw her forehead move and wrinkles appear, my already high level of respect for her just shot up even higher. One of the best.
God I love her. She and I are the same age and I’ve followed her career. She’s an amazing actress and you know the movie/show will be good when Jodie is in it! Can’t wait for True Detective!
ahhh jodie foster, she's a year older than me but still followed her movies like: napoleon and samantha, tom sawyer ... bugsy malone, little girl who lived down the lane ... one of my first loves at 8 years old ... today i see her and still see her smile that so enchanted me when "we' were young.
what a freaking legend. beyond the incredible talent there's something I find deeply relatable about the way she acts around people. A little bit awkward in a really endearing way. Like you can tell she's a bit uncomfortable with all the attention when she's not playing a role. Another commenter described her as a "reluctant" star and that feels so spot on. A mark of someone who's really very humble and respectful, i just love her so much!
It's great to see Jodie, she means quite a bit to me as I grew up watching her movies. Contact had a huge impact on me as a teen and is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. Anything Robert Zemeckis touched turned to gold. I loved astronomy and was a huge fan of Carl Sagan and of course the question of "are we alone in the universe?" is something I think everyone asks themselves. The scene where they are grilling her over her character not having proof of the alien contact made me cry when she explained she had an experience that she can't explain, it was so powerful, her acting in the scene... wow.
All the best to Jodie Foster! One of my heros growing up (one of my best friends went to camp with her one summer, so I always believed she was a real person, hope that makes sense to folks) and she’s been through so much. So glad she’s happy. Always love to see her doing well.
True story, my mother named me after the character Jodie Foster played on Kung Fu Theater, Alethia. She saw it when she was a teenager and decided that would be the name of her first daughter! I hated the name when I was young because it was always mispronounced, but I appreciate having an original naming story😊. Congratulations to Ms. Foster for all the hard work she put into having a successful career with longevity!
Jodie Foster‼️ one of my dreams come true! So looking forward to see her again! Mad respect for Foster! A living legend. Also looking forward to see Uma Thurman and Susan Sarandon! ♥️♥️♥️
I love both of these people. I value authenticity above all else in the human experience, and both of these individuals are nothing if not authentic. This was a real pleasure to watch. Thank you. : )
I've never seen Jodie Foster in any role or even as a guest on a show where she has been anything less than a joy to watch and listen to . A fabulous actor and brilliant, engaging soul!
Love Jodie, she's done a lot of terrific work in film. Silence of the Lambs gets a lot of attention but for me Contact was her best movie. Seen it about nine or 10 times. The episode of Black Mirror that she directed was also fantastic.
Oh my gosh I love her so much. I've grown up with her. She's one of the few child actors that excelled and to this day still can perform in her 60's, no plastics, no pretense. She remained true to herself in one of the hardest businesses to stay intact, whole and human. She's a true gem.
My very devoted dad took me to see every single film Jodie was in, when I was a child, apparently one year younger. Films with swoon-worthy Dean, too. Theyre the glue in my brain of childhood happiness, drowning out everything else. Thank you, Jodie.
I am 100% Team Jodie, but that is not how "old" looks. She looks considerably younger than her age, and if she's had surgical help with that, good on her for finding the right surgeon.
❤ One of the most brilliant actors and directors ever! Not many can withstand the rigours of Hollywood and Jodi has done just that from an award winning child actor to Yale graduate to award winning adult actor to director. It is amazing that Jodi has retained her integrity and love for the art and just continues to grow as she ages (very gracefully ages at that!). ❤ Such a beautiful human being.
Her magnificent eyes are even more amazing when you think about the brain and the mind behind them....the intelligence, the presence, the intellect, the humor...I could go on and on. She is just one of kind...❤
