Produced by Joe Ortiz & Pauly Ortiz (me and my wife). All instruments and backing vocals by me and Pauly as well. Thanks for posting this Gemann. How I wish we had mixed just the backing tracks although Pauly and I can reproduce this in our studios today anyways! Glad that everyone is enjoying this video. You certainly could dance your butt off 🙃
Grew up to meet this song and never knew it was done by a 🇬🇭. So much history and talents hidden from we the new generation. It’s always a nice feeling when I discover more 🇬🇭 history🔥🔥🔥
I never believed this song was done by an African when the musician is my own countryman, Ghanaian. I have searched for this song for years among calypso and soca songs. Oh my God! I used to dance to this track a lot as a kid.
Well kids, a little Gee man history. He won an international Michael Jackson lookalike contest during his heyday. He was a national dance champion. He was followed by Adjetey Sowah and I believe Slim Buster. Reggie Rockstone was also popular at the time. Those were the days of great DJs like Willie Chii, Harry and many others. Black Caesars and Sparks Center were the places for the Ghana version of Soul Train. Roy Cee I believe won the roller skating dance competition the year before Nana Agyeman (Gee man).
@Pastor Gemann and @JoeOrtiz !!!! What a classic you created. I'm a millennial and it's 2019 and I'm here enjoying this very beautiful song ! Thank you for creating a master piece ! #Legend #❤❤❤ #2019 #Ghana #classic #💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃
Michael Jackson did inspire a lot of people and I am one of those. As a youngkid I wanted to be a dancer and musciian like him. Even though I could dance I found myself in the world of science and IT more than entertainment. But even in that world I was always inspired to make products that awed and inspired. And now as I have started working on video animations I am still inspired by him. What most people will miss when it comes to MJ beyond all that popularity was a man that put a lot of seriousness and dedication into his work. He was a true legend that sang with true passion and put excellence in his music videos. He will be forever missed
I used to go watch his backup dancers when I used to go to Cosmos preparatory schoo at Abeka Lapaz! A friend of mine lived near the house and he came and told us about them. So we always rush after school to see them practice. Childhood memory ampa. I also try to find Azigiza's old songs and videos, but I can't find them.
I’ve always said this the Nigerians we see today have never been good music wise than we way back, even look at the time this song was composed, still feels like it was just yesterday. Myself and a lot of people born around the 90’s all jam to this song without knowing it’s even a Ghanaian that sung it. Yes indeed u can feel the Michael Jackson inspiration and vibes buh u can’t take away the quality and delivery from him. You can line up how many Nigerians musicians back then u can and not a single one of them have this much class and quality. Buh they will tell u afrobeat was originated by Fella 😂 a person who in his own words came to Ghana at one point to draw inspiration from hilife.
My childhood song! I remember how I would run away from class to a nearby pub to go and listen to this song whenever I heard the intro (baby cry). Thank you Geeman for sharing your gift with us.
a family member from ma side who could not control his anger... i will always pray we have a way of dealing with anger..cuz it really ruined ma uncle's future
And a Puerto-Rican who produced it and sang all the backing vocals with his wife - Pauly ;-) It is one of our very favourite out-of-house productions...
This is clean song with no vulgar words. It's a party song for the family. I pray some big artist in Ghana/US/UK/ SA/ Nigeria will make a remix version.
One of Ghana’’s best of the best! God has a purpose for your life. I thank God for your life… you are blessed!! I am inspired by your interview today 😢😢
I actually thought this song was a foreign song, n I wondered why I was hearing gari soakings😂, jux found out today it's a Ghanaian song. Wow what a beautiful song
I produced it, played all instruments and sang all the backing vocals with my wife - Pauly ;-) It is one of our very favourite out-of-house productions...
I was like wow when I discovered this song was made by a Ghanaian artist .. so many stories need to be told to we the young generation.. when I watched his interview with kwaku manu he said he was arrested on 9th January 1995 I wasn't even born .. our elders need to tell us more history
Shout out to Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale. Before you pull your pistols again, go find and talk to GeMann. He was a bigger star than either of you and messed up his life over some pistol stunt
That's what they do. Small thing they want to show how powerful they feel they are. This guy still hasn't felt sorry for his wrong and I am disappointed paa in him
@@jeremiahboafo8252 Did you listened to his interview very well? Why are people like you so judgmental and unforgiving hence always behaving like you are holier than thou. You piss some of us off. Do you know that it was the family of the guy whom he shot accidentally that wrote to president Kuffour to pardon him? Do you know that the daughter of the victim now loves him and calls him Daddy? Do you think all these will happen if the family of the victim didn't see some repentance in him? Kindly get off our backs with your hypocricy and stop crying more than the bereaved.
I think you are also being hypocritical. Why are you spitting Venom over someone's opinion? . If he listened to the interview and felt the way he feels, why the attack. You can't force people to see things the way you see it. He's speaking from his view point not your view point. Please
After getting to know him through his interviews, i feel this music in a kind of sensation bi. Have watched the video over and over. Sad ending tho, from FAME TO SHAME indeed
Wow! I have loved this song all my life, but never knew who the singer was. Today, I am happy to know that this music belongs to a Ghanaian. Thank you, Pastor Gemann for putting Ghana on the map.
" The version we created in Ghana at that time goes like this " Abiba eko hen na amba tam, eee, Abiba Eko hen na amba tam ee, me ko disco. It was a fun to watch him and learn his dancing moves. I'm 45 now and still have that memory.
Please upload more of your old hit songs. I grew up listening to them in the 90s but that was in the days of cassettes. So kindly upload some more if you can. Cheers.
Feeling nostalgic . This number was quite a hit back in the day. Loved the whole 80s disco vibe he had going on. You know this number was coming up once you heard the 'baby crying intro'. You had to bust a move. lol. Such a 'feel good 'song
Those who went Christian preparatory & in cultural dance will remember geeman & kojo antwi first concert in kumasi at UST now kust we were first to dance b4 them
I am pretty sure this song was much earlier. In 1987, I was in class 1 in Kumasi and one boy was asked to sing in from of the class. Lebanese Ghanaian fella, he could sing every song
I knew this song from my childhood but never knew the composer.Such a great talent that wasted in prison. But God saw him through and brought him out of sentenced to death in prison after14 years.I heared he is now a pastor.Praise be to God
Omg God has a purpose for everyone oo ..your life has become a great example for all. May God continue to bless . After listening to some of your interviews recently I was led unto this song 🎵. #legendary
Gemann, I now listen to this music everyday, as if it’s gospel, and looking at you, I smile all throughout like I knew you personally - just thanking God for bringing you out of death row. What a testimony. I only knew you when I was a child, and I heard your story too but now I give praise to God for what He’s done in your life. The way I play this song several times in a day, I just don’t understand. God bless you, my brother, may His favor be abundant in your life always 🙏.
Gemann was bigger and more talented than our today's untouchables shata, stone...y, sark. This guy can sing, dance, play many instruments, etc. This is what we call A MUSIC STAR
Simple and nice song that can be on repeat forever without it fading We need to celebrate these people as they live He's still strong and lively We have to offer a special day to celebrate him and the others like him
He went to prison 2 years before I was born but I grew up in to this song still rocking so my elder brother realised how i loved the song so he told me the story and i cried all day
Before Calypso there was Highlife and even if there weren't, the people who created calypso brought the rhythm from Africa during slavery. Africa is the root.
"This is high life, coming to you, sunshine music, let's come together do the rainbow."😂 😂😂😂 one of my favorite childhood song, forgive me G'Man, I butchered your song. I was young now I'm old I promise to sing it the right way starting today. Love this song 😊😊
When he was I prison joy fm plays this track slot . I shared tears 😭 I thought that was the end of him. I use to visit him James fort prison James town. I thank God he is back on his feet again. May God protect him
