The FN Hi-Power has been an iconic firearm of the Resident Evil franchise since 1998, first introduced as a service-issue handgun of the Raccoon Police Department, and furthermore the 9mm handgun of Claire Redfield.
After escaping Raccoon City, Claire continued to hold onto the Hi-Power during her investigation to find her missing brother.
Since then, the Hi-Power has had several appearances in recent games, with each depiction presenting a different design and implementation in the stories retelling.

This channel is so surreal in the fact it literally emerged out of nowhere and graced us from DAY ONE with quality content, editing, voicing, etc. No other channel was covering the weapons and it was really up to individuals to piece together any weapon lore own their own. I found this channel trying to look up the backstory behind the samurai edge and there was nothing on it except game play and very bare bones explinations. Truly we are blessed to have the Kendo Bros. with us.

The Hi-Power is one of my favorite Handguns in RE, and in real life. I have some personal attachments to the Hi-Power, as my grandfather carried one for many years as his service sidearm, both as an MP after Vietnam, and his carry weapon as a police officer up until he was forced to replace it with a S&W M&P .40. He told me recently that when he passes away, the Hi-Power will be left to me, as I am the only one in the family who both respects the weapon and am the only one to not ask for anything once he's no longer with us. He's a grouchy old man, but I love him so dearly. I hate to think that my time with him may end soon, but at least I'll have the memories we shared, and the Handgun he bet his life on many, many times.

I was blessed to find a second hoist power way back in 2015 I think. It was definitely used and I think it was an Israeli trade in. 1991 vintage MK-3. It had a lanyard stud on it and the wood grips which were aftermarket were definitely cut to fit around it by a person. It’s an ok reblue job I did but I wanna duracoat it in gloss black this fall. Want to avoid messing with the sights as the gun is dead nuts accurate

Take your remaining time with him seriously. Moreso than his property, I imagine he would want his knowledge, stories, and skills passed onto someone who knows their value and will further pass them on. You never know what kind of knowledge may be lost with him. There are so many things I could have learned from my grandma, but I was too young and arrogant to care.

I suggest that, for one video, you jump franchises to Devil May Cry, and review Dante's default sidearms: Ebony and Ivory. It's somewhat in tone because Devil May Cry started as a version of Resident Evil 4, and both franchises are from Capcom.

@@LegendStormcrow I like to think they aren't weak, but the enemies are actually incredibly durable, and Dante's melee weapons are stronger due to how strong he is. After all, Ebony and Ivory are chambered in .45 ACP, which can kill a cow in single shot.

I feel like DMC is a little farther out from reality than RE or TEW. I feel like it's a little to "fantasy" to fit the theme of the channel. But I'd still absolutely watch it!

@@LegendStormcrow In the manga, Ebony and Ivory were made by Nell Goldstein who's a big part of the character Dante and also the adoptive grandmother of Nico. The guns are not on the weak side perse since it was custom made for Dante who uses guns like one time use weapons and break them all the time.

Which is why a lot of gun types like to shit on it, both in a friendly or malicious manner. I'd happily own one as a spare or holdout if renewing licences weren't such a headache now for me.

@@phil_zupra_b5880 Most of the time people are referring to the trigger pull. Hi Power has the,"Magazine disconnect safety". No magazine inside the mag well aka no mag attach = Gun will not fire. Now because of this safety system design people said that Hi Power has horrible trigger pull. For me I think it all depend on the user.

This is the episode I've been waiting for, Claire is my most fav female characters I have a special place in my heart for. My older brother has taught me so much about Resident Evil as RE5 was my very first Resident Evil game I have ever played. Seeing myself as Claire, I see my older brother as Chris. But his fav character is Leon lol. I still look up to my brother how to play Resident Evil to this day and from now on I will be watching this video constantly like the other videos you guys have made. .38 special snubs are still a very popular self defense firearm. Very unobtrusive, extremely reliable in the worst of times and capable of killing most things not already dead. A revolver like the shrouded hammer S&W is really a practical gun in all but a zombie apocalypse

Being a big Resident Evil fan during childhood, my sister used to fangirl over firearm models featured throughout the series. Claire was her favorite character, to the point where she ended up purchasing the best all-metal Hi-Power air gun replica you can find on the market, complete with a magazine disconnect, slide lock and craptastic C96-style sights. As I was going through all the oldschool Resident Evil games a couple of years ago it was interesting to stumble upon models she used to talk about, like the SPAS-12 and 93R in Code Veronica or in this case the Hi-Power. It was a case of those good old "Oh, I get it now" moments.

For anyone who may not be aware, if you spawn the Jmp hp in re2 remake PC with the use of a trainer, you can actually spawn a model of it without the laser sight attachment.

I own an excellent version of the Browning HP. It's the Israeli clone called the Kareen Mk III which is a souped version of the HP made withstand 9mm+ rounds that were used in the uzis so both rounds can chamber both Uzi and Kareen Mk III

Fun fact the blue prints for the Browning HP had to be smuggled out of Europe during WWII (most likely Belgium) and was brought to Canada to continue production. That is why it became the standard issue Canadian Army sidearm for quite a long time.

Oh interesting but this is one of my favorite sidearms to be used in both resident evil and fallout new Vegas never leave home without my trusty hi power for an old handgun it's very reliable compared to a Glock which is made of aluminum and plastic steel mix some times the old weapons are the better choice cuz sometimes old does not mean bad

Just found your channel, and the depth of research done for the weapons in both lore and real life is outstanding! I'd like to see some of the rocket launchers covered, considering they're usually the go-to for the final boss in most Resi games. I think I'd also like to see you delve into other franchise weapons like Snake's 1911 from Metal Gear Solid 3, Dante's Ebony & Ivory in Devil May Cry, and Vincent's guns from Final Fantasy 7, just to name a few. I could understand wanting to stay with just Resident Evil.

Huge fan and big gun guy. Resident evil is the first game to really get me interested in fire arms. You do great research if you ever would like additional historical information. Or opinions from within the military community about a firearm let me know.

The final project of the one and only John Moses Browning...completed after his passing. The pioneer of semi-automatic pistols as we know them today, remembered even today by gun lovers everywhere and by veteran soldiers. 13 9mm bullets, it is decently powered and one of the only relics recovered from Raccoon City. The weapon helped brought justice to the city, however, it doesn't matter when the city had already fallen to walking death itself. A weapon whose main legacy will always be found within the hands of a certain cyclist who went into the city in search of her brother and left the city as a survivor, rescuing two others along with her weapon of choice. Found in a mere glove box of a police cruiser, no less. A true survivor who survived with her will, her wits, and her trusted side arm...

Put into the hands of police officer, soldier, and even criminal alike, this weapon stands as not only a reminder of what FN Herstal would be capable of in the coming years, but also as the legacy of one of the greatest gunsmiths to ever live. It is unfortunate that he never lived to see his creation completed, but he would've been proud to some degree that his weapon became a tool used by humanity facing a horror of our own making... When hell came to Raccoon City, it found itself, once again, as one major player in another war once more...and much like the wars it was in, those in its path would fall like those before.
