I discovered Paladins with my partner during the beta and we played for several years. We've seen the additions get thinner and thinner and the pricing policies as expensive as ever. That's my opinion, but I think Paladins has entered a vicious circle. There was a time when the game was good by standards, and Hi-rez rested on its laurels, wanting to make as much profit as possible with as little investment as possible. The big companies see gamers from afar, as ordinary buyers, without understanding the passion and emotions that video games MUST transmit to be good entertainment. As a result, gamers get bored, find something better to play, play Paladins less, revenues drop and, as a result, they're fired, the advertising budget is cut... This keeps profits up, but you always have to pull the rope tighter and tighter, and one day it breaks. Hi-rz needs to understand that Paladins is a good game that's still viable, but if they want it to be profitable, they need to put money into development and promotion, to get players to come back and stay, who will reinvest their money in it because they'll enjoy it. Why would I buy a battle pass or a skin for a character I like, but on a game I don't play? Why should I pay 10 bucks or more for a skin that's just a colorswap? Is a recoloring job worth that much? No, Hi-rez needs to improve its game rather than this store, its gamePLAY rather than its gamePAY and needs to stop thinking player are blind. you want money, we want a really good game. Honestly, I haven't relaunched Paladins in months, I barely follow the news because over time I've become accustomed to having the disillusionment of "maybe this time they'll change the things the players are asking for, who are in the best position to guide the development team" with every patch. Looking back, the only positive thing I still have to say about Paladins is that I discovered Kreepers through this game, and I like him, my partner too, but , now, not at all for what he does on Paladins but, for his content in general. So thanks Hi-rez, the only good thing I still have to say about you isn't even about you or your productions. I'm really very sad for Paladins, for Evil Mojo, for Kreepers and for the players you've abandoned for profit when we've given you money, time, support, visibility... Players won't forget, so don't be surprised if they don't show up for Smite 2. We're treated like we treat.

As someone who's been playing since 2016 is hurts so much to see where paladins is right now and where it's heading, i'm dreading the announcement that paladins might shutdown but i know it's coming soon if hirez doesn't stop neglecting the game to oblivion, they need to invest more into paladins and actually give the EM team more resources to work with, without that they won't get any return from the game ...

I’ve been saying this for years. Call me crazy but I think it’s time paladins offered the game to a new company- like surrendering it to Activision or even blizzard- maybe even Microsoft. Just give the game to a company that will fund the game. Epic games I’m sure would be happy to take one of the biggest hero shooter games on the market and I know for a fact epic games would put the time and effort into at least TRYING to revive the game, since it would give them a competitive edge over overwatch.

I think the end is really close for Paladins. The game might have been very slowly declining for a long time now, but I sense that we are getting to that threshold where the death spiral of doom begins. Once this spiral begins, it is hard to make it stop. Lack of quality content, leading to lessened player interest, which in turn makes it even harder to justify making content for the game.. and so on. A few cycles of this can wreck any game. It sucks even further because Hi-Rez has been dumping money into flopped projects like DKO and Rogue Company while Paladins had (back then) still some stored potential energy to make a comeback. Now all these “new” games are flat out dead and Paladins is left starved and dying as well. I honestly think it is too late to turn this ship around for Paladins at this point. It is really disheartening. A little naive child in the back of my head still holds up a tiny morsel of hope for a massive 2.0 revamp or an entire new Paladins 2 sequel, but I know that I have a better chance winning a lottery jackpot than this happening.

I'll be honest, Overwatch, a game that I thought wouldn't pay as much attention as I did to Paladins since 2016, became Paladins 2 for me, while Paladins stopped, that's the truth, it's sad for those who unlocked everything in the game like me, to see all of this being lost. ☹️

I have about 2500 hours in paladins, 55/58 achievements, 999 levels if you combine my main and old PS4 account, and about 2/3 of all the games cosmetics and things you can get. I've been here for a long time, and I've seen just about everything this game has gone through. I still really enjoy the game, but it is probably in the worst state it's ever been in. The battlepass is awful, matchmaking doesn't exist(I played against the same random player 6 matches in a row, and frequently played against level 25 and below accounts while I am 720+ on this account), there's no action taken against people who throw the game, the bots still get stuck in spawn when someone DC's, the item store is confusing now, and they recycled old item icons, the only map we've gotten in YEARS was dawnforge and it's just not a good map(and it's not like new maps aren't possible, I've played on unfinished maps for years that are entirely functional, just missing textures) likethere's still so many things that really suck to deal with every time I boot up paladins, but I still love it. Evil-Mojo just needs proper funding to keep this game alive, or Paladins 2 needs to happen. I never want to leave paladins, and I still greatly prefer it over Overwatch. But Paladins is on life support, and has been for a long time

Too late. Doesn't matter now. All legacy players are gone. I said bye to Paladins a year ago to play The Finals (shooter with similar abilities) BEST DECISION IVE EVER MADE. Hi-Rez just wants money at the cost of their secondary IPs, that's why they fund smite and make multiple cash grabs (DKO, RR, Rogue, etc). Better branch out (as Kami did) to a better blooming game as The Finals instead of crying over spilt milk. It was fun. THEY DONT CARE, YOU SAID IT YOURSELF, theyre gettin rid of everything essential to the game to continue functioning organically. The only REAL thing that could save Paladins is if they sell the IP to a competent studio. Theyre leading Paladins to its grave and they want to squeeze the last drop of money they can in the process. I wasted 9k hours of my life in this game and i dont recall even once saying: "this is getting better!!" NONE, so Hi-Rez lost his chance long ago and they know it. Is up to you, the few playerbase to gtfo or continue to be ignored while you see your fav game dies. I made a 180 page google doc full of QoL, bug replication, ideas, balance and they ignored me, so f*k off Hirez. Loved the game, but its time to move on. I suggest try out The Finals. @kreepers THEY ALREADY LET YOU GUYS KNOW, OR IS THAT LIST YOU MADE NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE?? LEAVE, YOURE ENTERTAINING, YOU CAN MAKE CONTENT FOR ANOTHER GAME. I mean I haven't been really active on paladins in over a year now. Not because of the game itself I still come back to it every now and then, but there's a lot of others games that has my attention way more paladins lately like ff7 rebirth and tekken 8 (mostly)

What really pisses me off about the community is that the ship is sinking yet there's people trying to convince that the game is in it's best state right now. Things like: The game has no lore: it's better to have no lore. The matchmaking is horrible: just get better at the game and stop whining. Players don't feel rewarded for putting effort in the game: playing the game is it's own reward. The game has no maps: this way you can get better at them faster. Balancing favors only try hards: because new players should also learn to play only hard champions. And so on.

the worst thing is they are literally throwing away opportunities, even some of the biggest overwatch content creators have stopped by to see paladins recently and some from evil mojo have even unlocked heroes for them to try absurdly no man's sky is more advertised ,this month I saw a really cool trailer of the new update on fifty gaming channels (sony,ign etc..) for paladins there is nothing left online and it's a waste because this was the moment to capitalize on the failures and disappointments of the entire competition

Could modding and community work revitalise Paladins? I always thought that a community implication in the game (a la Team Fortress 2) would provide enough content and or fresh ideas/ maps/ champions and so to at least steady the number of players

There is no hope for this game. It was lost 6 years ago..Servers are terrible, broken champions are being overshadowed by more broken ones, and the community is corrupted and broken, but no one is more of this than hirez. There is no chance of bringing it back to its former glory...Rest in peace..Paladins. Also, wish you luck in the future of you and your family!

Personally dont want a Paladins 2, With the track records of new games its most likely going to be worse than what we currently have, especially from a company that barely cares about the ip, if i was rich i would buy this thing.

Its always a shame to see a cherished game go downhill. As much as I liked the game the company looking after it is known for giving up on projects and sad as it is, we as a playerbase have (and honestly never had) no power over it.

tbh giving it a good storymode would go a long way. so you can play offline anytime and aren't fucked when the servers are down, which happens a lot lately. and I think a good solo mode that gives us more worldbuilding and expands on the lore would be more than welcome among all types of players. I just hope the games can still be played after the servers eventually get shut down forever. good point about realm royale btw. I had great times playing that game. are the servers still up?

paladins needs to be remade on a better game engine this is what it would need, paladins 2 and put it on the next nintendo console with motion controls, next xbox console, the PS6 very early on in the console life when there are basically no games so it stands out a lot more which gets a very large amount of new players playing it

The only way to save Paladins nowadays is to do the same thing most companies are doing which is releasing a new game and killing the previous one, like CS2/CSGO and OW2/OW1. If they really care about Paladins they need to start making a new Paladins 2 from scrap in a new engine like UE5 and releasing on top of Paladins 1, it will be hard with the current team but there is not much possibilities to save the game.. I liked what they did with the recent patch that actually brought many things people were asking for years, but its not gonna save the game.

I highly recommend trying Gigantic. It got shut down in 2018 but is coming back April 9th. I like the game more than both overwatch and paladins. It has the adaptability like paladins but is well made and feels great.

Those have been notable people within the community, content creators, AoC members, pro players, streamers that had a consistent following, guide and how-to makers, game design/balance analysts, testers, newspeople, creatives. Even z1unknown, FrostFangs, Tarden (Brazil) and Wiza (Brazil) are "quiet quitting", they "sorta just post videos".

A lot of Content Creators have moved on from this game, no one ever stays forever on one game. I think Paladins still has a decent player base (in terms of numbers), a lot of gaming studios would dream to have a playerbase and a loyal fan base like this. But I also think that Hi-Rez no longer wants to invest into this games because of the ever changing 'gaming' landscape. So sadly the game is bound to gradually decline, but even with investment we should honestlly ask ourself: Will it make a difference? I remember some sponsored campaigns back in the days with a few of the biggest French streamers, result; there was a wave of new French players that stuck to the game. But how much will it take to get that same result but on a more global scale? I think Hi-Rez just does not have the money to do that anymore for Paladins or they are simply not willing to take the risk given the game is very old. Anyway, as someone who was part of this community, content creators / Steam Team - I was grateful to be on the ride and I carry these good memories with me. ❤

The sad truth is that Hi-Rez would probably not been able to rescue Paladins even if they want to. If you seen all Hi-Rez games stats it paints an abysmal future for the company. Only Smite was able to maintain their playerbase, Paladins is on life support, while Rogue Company, Realm Royale, and Divine Knockout are on suicide watch. Truly, they have ungodly streaks of ruining their own games. They don't have much resources to spare, so understandably, they would invest it on their biggest and safest IP, Smite. I'll give it 1 year, 3 at most, before Paladins getting snapped to oblivion.

I haven't touched Paladins since the start of the year. I wasn't and am still not a fan of them bringing back old features and advertising it as something new. But I recognize that’s practically all they can do now. Champion production slowed down because the community thought that would it would spark a bug fixing era. Now they aren't generating enough money to profit from the game. Very little has been exciting as of late. We don't get new maps. We don't get events. We don't get much of anything but recycles from the past. Paladins has run its course with the small resources its had. Its seemingly become a passion project in its current state, with the devs doing everything they can to keep the game alive with the little income they have. Unfortunate.

i came to paladins 5 years ago after Gigantic Died, ive been having fun for the last 4 years but since this last year i have grown tired, MATCHMAKING is terrible, 80% of the time i will have 3 noobs all level 10 and below, myself and maybe someone else who is a high level but on the other side there is maybe 1 noob and all the rest are high level, so matchmaking turns out to be a complete stomp and no fun.. this happens 8/10 times so the majority of games are CRAP, no fun and waste of time. This is why im leaving paladins and going back to GIGANTIC when it returns in a few weeks time, sorry enough of my time is wasted on a game that is not balanced and 0 fun. Games are supposed to be FUN, TAKE NOTE HI REZ !

This game is not dead... simply the team behind are mkre focused on Smithe that generate more revenue...but still i love this game and ill play it more then AAA crap games..Paladins have a crap store in 1st place , but the Devs keep showing love and create nice skins in general , we should have more costumization options like coloring the skins as we like or even mix diferent parts of skins (legs,torso,etc) also more cards per paladin would be great

Woke up this morning and my paladins account is banned again and I still can't get a response even with a support ticket. This has happened 2 other times since 2019 and I've never been given a reason for my bans or been responded to even going far enough to phone hi rez and email evil mojo time and time again but never been responded to I'm out money now I really don't have and quite upset

Ive grinded (or bought with gold) every single event skin, battle pass and event pass. In 2024, i can say that this current one im skipping not because i dont want to grind, but for the first time ever, there is nothing for me. Paladins (or hirez and not evil mojo more precisely) has shown me that i am not welcome anymore. 2016-2024 is a hell of a long time though. Ill be turtling in 2fort intel room if hirez comes crawling back.

Maybe it's because I've only been playing the game for like 2 years. But I really like the new update. I don't even want him to tell me why his last two videos have negative titles. I don't need him to explain to me what I should be upset about. I'm going to keep enjoying this update until it's over and then maybe I'll pay attention to what he has to say about the game.

Isn't it at this point like, we wait for ai engineers software to take over!? There isn't enough demand on the market for a game like paladins. It is a wonder the game survived so long.

They will just live it like that until they feel like deleting it. We are gonna have training matches with bots, instead of casuals with players and yeah is close for that to happen, not just the lack of players. The lags, clippings, players constantly disconnecting, no dam structure appart for adding an icon to the class and that's it.

I've been playing both OW and paladins since 2017. been switching between both for years, but I'm sorry, I'm gonna stick to OW now. uninstalled paladins. just got boring. buggy, crashing, bad quality. OW has it's flaws but it's honestly just better to look at. gameplay is way smoother. and i like the idea of being able to switch characters mid game. paladins is just dead. i was waiting like 7-8 minutes on PS4 to find a game in QP

I kinda like standby state. When I was a kid every game was a hard copy full release with no patches. This is how great games are made. Room for error is just and excuse to have errors. I don't believe in updates or rereleases for that matter. Make it right 1 time and keep it that way. Nobody ever complained that checkers or poker didn't have enough updates. Every time 1 of these games releases a new character the entire game needs rebalanced around it. Players tend to drift away from games towards new things and that's not a bad thing. Sometimes you have to quit a game to get more hours at work. Sometimes you have to quit a game to raise a family. Sometimes you just want to play a new game. People change and that's a good thing. Make a new game, a new concept a new story. You can bring in a whole new audience hopefully not a woke 1. What is advertising a 8 year old game going to do? Everyone who tried it and quit already has an opinion about it that you can't change. Everyone who didn't try it looks at it's player count and assumes its dying so they won't commit any time to it. People are often wrong about things, but convincing them that they are wrong is an impossible sale.

This game needs new players but they're making the item shop (which is already a hard mechanic to learn for new players) even more difficult to understand. I'm scared of the direction the game is taking right now and with Overwatch starting to have a comeback and the new announcement of Marvel Rivals, I hope Paladins will shine too.

i am not going to talk bad about the game i really like the game i played it for 3 years but after i have seen the new update i uninstalled the game i have seen the new state of the game and i have felt like i am wasting my time . its sad the game does stuff better than overwatch and if the game gets a new engine and some none symmetrical maps it could kill any other hero shooter but i guess its too late for that. the only way to save this game is to give it to a company that can reboot the whole game . start fresh new code on a modern engine and clean all the garbage that the game had like delete similar champs like vivan and viktor and balance bug abuser's like zhin and yag and generally give love to the current champs adding on that they should restore the old item shop and in my opinion they should be less generous so they could make more money it is the sad truth ,that's what most of the successful free to play games do like valorant and overwatch .

Smite 2 is looking to do good things for that game, I've never played Smite, but I'm interested in trying. Hopefully its successful and Paladins gets better, Its been like 2 years since I've seriously played paladins. I've only installed, played 3 ranked games, remembered how shit Paladins is, uninstalled. On repeat.

i really feel like a paladins 2 could also very much save this game but doing the overwatch 2 route the right way. Just do the full engine update and keep characters and gameplay the same. A new engine would mean most of the bug issue would or could at least be worked on without popping in new ones. Also having the new engine oculd mean content like more dynamic maps or just whole new modes could be made quicker and easier. We cant have tons of permanent modes since it would make each one have such split player counts but if more dyamic maps and tighter mechanics means rotating modes will feel so much better and could even bring lore or community based things in for fun.

Unfortunately, this game is dead. Pc, playstation, xbox it doesn't matter anymore its all over now. its 2024 and other than a few changes the same game has been the same game for too long. I deleted my lvl 999 account with over 3800 hours, 20+ champs at lvl 50+, almost all of the skins. Its just not worth it anymore, its not a game worth playing anymore. Only the people who can't give up their lvl 999 character will be the only losers playing this game by the end of the year, bet.

This further proves the point that Hi-Rez just makes games to chase trends. We see that with Rouge Company, Paladins, Reaalm Royal and even the mmo they had at some point. I think the only game that really holds them afloat is Smite because unlike their other games it has its own identity and a really strong community behind it. Paladins on the other hand just came because of the sheer popularity of hero shooters. The card mechanic does help to set it apart from games such as Overwatch or Valorant but not enough to be more popular. And let's face it, once Marvel Rivals will come out the game is bound to be big and you'll see an even bigger drop in players. The best solution is to just have Hi-Rez sell the IP to someone else so we can at least expect more polish for the game. I don't blame Evil Mojo because I'm sure they're running on a low budget, but I am expecting from Hi-Rez to take responsibility and either support the game or just give it to someone else.

i found paladins randomly in 2k19 and whenever i watched ow1/2 then i didnt had money to buy overwatch so i started to play paladins AND im still playing it these days, even when ow2 is ftp...but offtopic i hope new marvel rivals game wont end up like ow2 or paladins, this would be first multiplayer marvel game since...since ever! first games from marvel, "marvel ultimate alliance" were games of my childhood. i rly hope hi rez will get shit togheter and FINALLY take care of it second child

The item shop is an excellent change, and im proud of the devs for the work they're putting in on the game. Start a gofundme, start a fucking petition, something that would actually enact positive change. I mean, you're this big famous streamer with a myriad of connections, try talking to some of the people you know and get investors. Rogue company and paladins are dead. Even at their peaks these games haven't done that well honestly better to just get rid of losses at some point. Try something else. Which is ashame because I of Couse like both of these games but it is what it is. Stick to the IP that is been successful aka Smite forget the rest.

It's a small team and they need resources. If y'all love the game so much, spend $20 on some crystals to show your support.I feel like most of you have never been to a pawn shop because no one seems to understand profit margins.
