A birthday present to myself!...a pair of Repro Adjustable Hiatts Darby Cuffs, probably originating from the southern hemisphere ( I have a similar pair of non adjustable repros, but the keys are not interchangeable!!!) After a good clean using the tried and tested SbD methods I now feel they need a quick demonstration....all OK except one of the lock mechanisms is still slightly malfunctioning even after repeated use of cleaning fluid....but I know the work around so no problem ;-)....enjoy the show....I did.... :-D
UPDATE!!....It seems, thank's to the ever knowledgable Coxyspicks, these are Hiatts all along....an inferior cast model made in the 70/80's intended for the export market...:-)

I had a simular pair. I found them at a pirate store at the mall but they were rust colored. The small bushing that holds the swivel together popped of and the cuffs broke in two but still work like slave bracelets. Now it don't matter if I lost the key or not while wearing them. Fortunately I still have the key and the cuffs.

These may be the later pot metal cheaper version but they look great compared to ones I have seen elsewhere. I'd say be careful with the key for those, if they are made of pot metal, if you try that key in other hiatt cuffs you may wreck the key in the same manner I ruined one in seconds lol. As for the other mechanism, perhaps you need to wiggle the key around to get the bolt to seat in the hole of the key? Some darbies have pretty wonky alignment of the bolt.

Thanks for the advice SbD, and yes, I'm very careful using the key and wouldn't use it in any Hiatts vintage Darbys. Having said that I've just taken delivery of a fab looking pair of vintage Darbys, sadly one lock mechanism is totally fcuked, so they are going back tomorrow, such a shame they were real fab lookers.

@@cuffgirl7348 Aww... that's too bad. I had a decent pair, similar in every way to my M&C 1916 shiny ones. Just no M&C stamping. Fooked. Totally. I cut the lock retaining loops and gave them to a family friend so they can open and close but are no longer secure.

I have a pair of the steel version of your 115 coming in a few days hopefully.The key looks like a much newer key though because it has that grey pot metal look to it, the same kind of key I trashed before. So I shall dedicate the key it comes with, to those cuffs. But I shall try my other keys and hope I have something else that can open them.

I would hate to have the key break in the the hole while locked in those cuffs. With part of the key stuck in the, there would be no way to unlock them. I would have to break the chain link and wear them like permanent bracelets.

They look wide and comfortable, with more than normal space between the cuffs.

Hi fils violet {C}🙋‍♀...thank's for watching😀....for my thin wrists they are quite comfortable, but not as comfortable as the non adjustable Darbys as the profile is a bit different in the bow.....like a lot of Darbys, the linking chain, with swivel means they have a lot more space than modern cuffs with only one or two chain links😎

Hi Coxy, I assumed they are repro's....It's nice to proven wrong...bought on ebay as hiatts with a question mark? !....I have a non adjustable pair bought probably 15+ years ago from a shop in London. I will now do a bit of research!! 🙂

They deffo look like late manufactur 115 adjustable. The key makes me sure of it.
