I was turned on to this band by an Insta story from the guitarist of Car Bomb, and the two bands have mutually dominated my stereo since. Mood Valiant is every bit as complex and deep-rooted in theory as Mordial, and that just fucking rules, ya know?
@ThrashJazzAssassin77 I was just getting back into heavy music and would love your favorite songs by car bomb. Really enjoyed vague skies and scattered sprites on first listen! Hiatus is my all time favorite group of musicians but I grew up going to any "core" show I could.
Every once in a long-ass time I stumble across a band that sounds even better live than they do on the record. Hiatus Kaiyote is one of those fucking bands. God bless Nai Palm...
I found this beautiful, but I'm not a drummer at all so I was wondering if this was really noticable, and then I came across your comment. Beautiful move indeed.
Dude, that's called 'drunken beats', 'that j-dilla thing', the 'chris daddy groove' and other random names. It's not a mistake, it's 100 years of drumming evolution
The fill? It's fine, but there are a lot of other more impressive things in here like how about just the feel... Thats something that matters more than anything yet gets overlooked
I've watched/listened to this a bunch of times. This is the first time I noticed the jingling of Nai Palm's headdress picked up by her mic. Really adds to the watery atmosphere of the song.
I remember watching a video of them performing this before the album was released. Been hooked on this since then. One of my favourite records of by them!!!!
Can someone tell how is it possible to such music have great nuances and diferent vibes and somehow all of them fit together so well? Serious, this band is bizarre great on technicality, groove and good taste. I wonder are those references (the dummer is possibly snark puppy, chris dave and benny greb).
soy de Ecuador y me encanta esta banda ,y hasta ahora me di cuenta que la cantante se parece a una actriz de mi país que actúa en el combo amarillo le dicen pepa xdxd
