Anthony Gordon Jr I was amazed that she was able to pull it off live. Obviously not as clean as the post-production version, but impressive nonetheless. I love this fuckin band.
Shane Monteiro seems like underdogs always make the greatest stories. Apparently he’s a self taught jazz drummer... which is incredible and means that he was most likely born with word class natural percussive ability. Phenomenal.
At 60 years old, I have spent a large chunk of my life in the endless search of music that tickles my mind and my soul. I am a massive fan of dense and complex music. BUT THIS!!!!!! WTF is going-on here? Clearly there is great musical depth and technical ability - this stuff is COMPLEX! But at the same time it is somethiNg that is amazingly attractive. Definitely going to check more out. These folks definitely have SOMETHING GOING-ON - I just need to figure-out what as my instincts are telling me that I will. really appreciate it when I do. THANKS FOR POSTING!! Its sort of Herbie Hancock meets Parliament/Funkadelic meets Edgar Varese and Frank Zappa. WHAT A MIX!!
Listen to black music from 1971-1983 and you could understand her groove and she nailed it on this song...good song woman! Thanks Black music you have exceptional students!
@@Halalhotep I'm not disrespecting it or implying it doesn't have soul... I'm asking are we not capable of enjoying music for what it is in the moment without needing a history lesson first? And I'm sick of people referring to it as "black music". Should we start calling Irish traditional music "white music"? Seems kinda unnecessarily divisive and race bating.
jajajaj, this was funny when i read it. even funnier when i saw the guy. awesome band though. Happened to listen while enjoying Emily King and was hooked on her voice and groove. So many vibes that people say they sound like; no one has mentioned Sia. Equally unintelligible but delightful!
Reid Price hahahahahaha I am laughing so hard I’m crying. Love this song and Watched this video so many times just to see that dudes face. Bahahahaha omg I’m so glad you said it.
I wouldn't go that far mate. Erykah was doing this "future soul" thing on New Amerykah part 1. Great band in any case. Looking forward to seeing them in July
i reckON i better listen to New Amerykah pt. 1, aye? i will say that Hx Kx really moves me... i love how they prog-UP and space-OUT the neo-soul thang... pretty effing gnarly talents being utilized! i've heard Nai Palm mention the strong Stevie Wonder influence on her....i can def' hear it. i had to get used to her voice... then i got it. it's an instrument...and she's using it.
I seriously never expected to hear a band this damn good in my lifetime. And they're just getting better and better. Whatever band I liked before, f**k 'em! lol kidding
Damn near as good, and possibly even more fun than the album version! When a band sounds as good live as they do in the studio, you know you're dealing with a very good band!
I say this as the single biggest Hiatus Kaiyote fan on the planet right now: Booooooo. The crowd are purposefully adorned in the most cache of hipster attire. They suck.
spray you are just a really fucking boring person with zero individuality. People with your mindset is why interesting art and music like in this video is practically on life support. Not to mention other boring robots like yourself would say the same thing about the band.
Sometimes when an act is performing and it’s being recorded, the audience is asked before hand not too make too much noise so the performance can be captured perfectly.
There is a lot of great new music, a lot of young people with new and original material... but Hiatus Kaiyote play in another league, I honestly think (without controversy) that no one comes close. So much talent in EACH AND EVERYONE AND IN THE CHORUS!
Direct to the old Navajo by the fire Wish we were burn your design Suede and hawk feather entwine me to the time Arizona in due mind A bell that rings in the chest of story told Meet you in this future bold Sage at key point lead me to his funeral A man lost young and old Regret less the knot yes I give you the end to hold And through darkness and earth wet I seek through the land to mould A woman that rests night and day, sweat and tears unfold To undress the burdens that caress the blessed I’m told Regret less the knot yes I give you the end to hold And through darkness and earth wet I seek through the land to mould A woman that rests night and day, sweat and tears unfold To undress the burdens that caress the blessed I’m told
