I've had this for about a month now. Bought an upgraded USB C cable and started with that cable for about a week. There was extra noise and I thought it was the actual unit. Went back to stock cable and it all cleared up. Don't use the software but I've thoroughly enjoyed the dongle. I use them for 7hz timeless on a Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra. Turned Dolby Atmos off for a less filtered experience as the hiby comes across clear. Thanks for the review.
I think they just have heaps of components left over from the w series and you are correct that probably using the Bluetooth module for a PCB. As it's probably been designed to be run with the w series
wow I just change my order from Fiio KA3 to this because my reason that it is not plug and play on windows, just waiting for this to be delivered. I already downloaded the firmware files. now I am more excited!
anybody trying to update to 1.12 pretty simple. you must use a usb c to usb a cable. To the right of the top drop down menu theres three buttons. From left to right its browse - download - install. Click download and it should ask if you want to download firmware 1.12. Download it. Then it should have created a new folder name download within the program folder. copy the file into the main program folder. now click the the browse button and select the new firmware. click the install button and it should start installing. you'll see a green progress bar below and wait til it says done. it should say 1.xx > 1.12 in the prompt box.

Nice speech, could have been better with a firmware update example. I got one my self the dac is invidible under ubuntu 22, or buster (nothing shown by lsusb)
Sorry for the delayed response. I will try once I get some free time but there is a new firmware V1.12 that doesn't have the issues I mentioned in this video. It fixes all the leftover problems from the update I discussed in this video. If you use your phone for Google translate to read the update tool options you should have no issues upgrading anymore. I hope this new update version helps you.
@@mrcrunch8000 how do I update the firmware if I dont know chinese.. the firmware tool wont find the usb and I tried the DFU or whatever and its all chinese lol
Unfortunatelly in my case, no matter what I do, my firmware upgrade always fails once it reaches 10% (I`ve also tried to upgrade from 1.09 to 1.10 before upgrading to 1.12, but the outcome is the same)...reached their support and their reply was "use another computer and try again..."
It was also on Windows 7 and usb 2.0, I did the same on Windows 10 and usb 3.0, everything worked out (I think it's about the usb port), maybe this will help you.
I'm so confused why would you get a DAC to run Bluetooth. That is unnecessary why would you go digital to digital. A deck is to go digital to analogue. My assumption is that they are using components that they're bought very cheaply to do things that they're not meant to do that they do. At the end of the day does it do when it says it has to do. If it doesn't do what it says it's meant to do then you have a problem. If it has more technology in it than what it says it's meant to do but it's still does what it's meant to do then why is there an issue
I updated it right after seeing you comment. The tool provided with the v1.12 update actually worked, and it seems to have fixed all the remaining minor issues I had with the FC4. RU-vid finally works perfectly, and that initial pop seems to be gone. From my short use with it after the update it seems to be perfect now.
Didn’t work on mine. It’s 9219 and think it’s on 1.08 fw. It fails the 1.12 fw. Also on iPhone 3 pro maxx if you get to 50% or below battery it won’t power it. Also the balanced 4.4 output is mono. Someone on Amazon mentioned this and a simple right/left RU-vid test confirms this.
