The fact that there is an online professional AOE tournament for $50,000 20 years after this game came out is awesome. The premise of this tournament is also very cool.

Still following these videos, thank you so much! maybe someone knows the answer to this: you mentioned that conquistadors are nerved because they received the cavalry archer class, making them vulnarable to skirms. However, does that mean that armor classes stack? for example, an elite skirmisher has +4 versus archer armor class, and +2vs cavalry archer armor class, does it now get +6 vs conquistadors?

Thanks for uploading everything to RU-vid, great tournament! One small complaint though: Those colours. Since I'm colourblind, it's really hard to make out who's who in engagements. It's kind of fine on the mini map, but in fights I've no idea who's on top. Edit: It seems you noticed yourself. Here's hoping for team colours soon ;)

Was a bit annoyed to see chat presuming so early that they both lower rated entries when faced with such a bizarre map gen game 1. Vlad showed incredible prep and it's true that macro seemed a big part of his successes, but Aleric had some really solid micro and was at his best on meta maps, I wouldn't be surprised at all for him to be one of the top contenders in this tournament.

T90 this is a great tourney. I stopped by the stream for the first time just cause I wanted to see all the matches live, but the 2nd day I gave up: it’s too much time. Maybe consider for HC4 make 2-3 bo5 everyday? I’m just sad I won’t make it in time for the live final, keep going

I feel like instead of setting a population cap in aoe it would be more interesting to allow high population but set a decay for maintaining villagers and an army and increasing the decay of resources depending on how big your population is. Therefore you wouldnt be able to idle your army and would have to think how many to units to create.

Vlad didn't do the farm upgrade in the last game. I hate it so much when players handicap themselves. Forgetting an upgrade like that does more damage than your opponent does.
