Normally these attacks don't have any specific interactions, but once you actually use them in a combo, they do just a little bit of extra damage to the whole point of the attack, as stated in alpha 5's attack, it does do more damage to airborne enemies, in this case we have 2 others that get a bit more damage from that as well, but in this case, 1 looks cool while the other was nWay trying to fix their blunder, but didn't think it through when it came to what happens to the damage! So now Heckyl, Alpha 5 and Eric will show their hidden damage!
