Hidden & Dangerous (1) Deluxe speedrun completed in 86 minutes - the first stereoscopic 3D run published on SpeedDemosArchive.com. Annotated 2D version also available: • Hidden & Dangerous 1 D... .
The goal was to complete H&D, using segments, as quickly as possible. No cheats or custom plugins were used. Game difficulty was set to default (normal).
Please select 2x the intended quality to compensate for the Stereo 3D video (720p+ recommended). Select the 3D mode that is compatible with your stereo device using the 3D icon at the bottom. If the depth seems inverted and the video is weird, try the "Swap left-right" option.
If you don't have a 3D display or stereo glasses, please turn off 3D or view the annotated 2D version here: • Hidden & Dangerous 1 D... .
The cheapest stereoscopic device might be this product: www.nvp3d.com/e... , but it's not as easy on the eyes as the stereo goggles or displays. (I'm not affiliated with this shop.) Color filtering glasses also work to an extent.

No real soldiers were harmed in the making of this video. But some digital ones were sacrificed in order to end the war sooner. Apologies if your favorite character didn't make it to the end!

I loved this game in the late 90s. Played it for hours. Only wish I had a better graphics card so it wouldn't keep crashing maybe I'll have to try and replay it with a better set up

I believe more modern software is the cause of the problem. I play it on my Windows 7 laptop that has specs that isn't even up to par with 2003 laptops and it never crashed for me. Just had a few errors while quitting the map screen.

Here's what was needed to play this game in Stereo 3D: - nVidia 3D vision compatible graphics card. (All recent mid- to high-end consumer cards can do 3D vision.) - Vista or later (32 or 64-bit) - a 3D monitor supported by 3D vision. I have a passive 3D monitor. - proper drivers. Once you have those and launch the game, it should display in stereo 3D. Good luck!

If you run H&D using nVidia 3D vision (using a supported card, driver and display), it will be in stereoscopic 3D.

Loved the little dodge under the plane on the last mission in the second campaign.

In that mission, the jeep won't blow up unless it gets hit by: 1) a panzerfaust, or 2) a good dose of large caliber machine gun fire. The jeep was simply adjusted by the developers to be tougher in some of the more demanding missions. It's a freely downloadable game. It would be nice if you experimented with what you don't understand, before calling it cheating. Thanks!

I was a split second late in going to prone. The props would have chopped me right up if more realism had been programmed into the game :)

Thanks. Asking questions is completely OK. SDA speedruns are checked by multiple verifiers to make sure there's no cheating. In addition, I don't think I could fool a potentially unlimited number of viewers. I'm working on the 2D variant of the video, where I explain some of my tricks in RU-vid annotations.

"the jumping depth was bothersome." Yeah, I agree with that. NVIDIA's 3D laser sight needs some work. Tridef's stereo drivers has a 3D crosshair, too, but it's better. Depth adjustments are smoother and faster. "with both pop-out and pop-in areas" As I always say, this is the great thing about S3D on PC. I disagree this is the best experience, but that's okay because we can each customize exactly what we want. I like the "window into a virtual world" effect, with little to no continuous popout.

Thanks for the feedback. I remember testing the nV crosshair and it didn't look as well. E.g. the jumping depth was bothersome. The in-built crosshair points a couple of meters ahead. If you look at the white rail on the left at around 00:00:51 in 3D interlaced mode: - close to you, it diverges - it crosses a couple of meters ahead (where the crosshair is), - and it diverges again in reverse. This kind of crossing, with both pop-out and pop-in areas, seemed to provide the best 3D experience.

Well 2d movies by definition don't have the kind of depth that there is in 3d movies :) Yes, this depth is comfortable for me. I tried to make it easy on the eyes. A lot depends on the 3D display though, and how you view it.

Try to select soldiers with better shooting stats. Smedley, Web, and Vanguard are the best 3 snipers.

As described in the video description, this is a segmented speedrun. When you save/load within a mission, the enemies' aim and shooting are reset, which I used to my advantage to speed up the run. In c2m2, I saved before the shooting registered and sounded the alarm.

I haven't heard of this game, but glad for the S3D video. H&D seems to render well, though it seems like you built your depth and convergence settings around the unfortunately 2D crosshair. These convergence settings make the 2D crosshair usable, but sacrifices a lot from the S3D experience by having very low depth and high convergence. The game world has little impact and the gun's popout is distracting. Using the Nvidia 3D crosshair allows for proper S3D settings that bring the game to live.

Great speedrun.I have to admit you are amazing.But it's obvious that you are cheating at last campaign in second mission.I mean how can you go through all that gunfire with a jeep and it doesn't explode?
