I came up with a way to beat this mission quickly without having to drive all the way through and just using 2 guys. Start off and get out of the APC with a bazooka. Wait about 30 seconds and a tank will appear behind you. Take it out with the bazooka. Then make sure both players are in the front seats of the APC. Drive through the forest down to where you first see the stream on the left. If memory serves me right you might have to stop once or twice to snipe enemies with panzerfausts. There's a part of the stream that is very narrow. If you get up enough speed you can drive through it and although the APC will still be underwater, when your players get out they will only be partially submerged and wont die, then can walk up the bank on the other side. From here turn left and continue on foot. There's a few enemies but I don't think any tanks. If you have guys in the back of the APC when they get out they will drown so thats why you can only have 2 in the front.
Thank you man so much for what you are doing! I wanted to reminisce a little and I stumble upon your videos. What a memories! Such a nicely done videos! I remember this mission particularly well. It was, perhaps, the looooongest mission i had to play, in the end, i've decided that only 1 soldier is enough, since the bullets cant kill the track, only a granades, well, it did work that way. Though in the beginning I have ALWAYS planted several anti-tank landmines, and drove not over the beach as you did, but quite contrary, from the river side, near the swamps. Edge of the "cliff" proveded sufficient cover against tank blows.
Hello, nice walkthrough and tactic used! I remember this mission being painful on the Hard difficulty setting. Did you try maybe my H&D Deluxe Ultimate Mod that i have uploaded to my ModDB account? It is worth a try if you like this game. I plan to further update the mod when time allows.
were you playing it on windows 10? i'm wondering how could i get deluxe to work, i bought action pack version on steam but it doesn't work properly, i mean i can launch fight for freedom and action pack separately but deluxe runs at 10 fps at max
Yes, I do play this game on Windows 10 Not too long ago, another viewer asked the same question. This was my respons: "Right click on the hde.exe and go to Properties → Compatibility → Check the Compatibility mode and select the Windows XP Service Pack 2 option → Also check the "Run this program as an administrator" option → Click on Ok I have seen someone else (who had similar low-FPS problems) suggest redownloading the game. That did the trick for them Hope either one of these options will work for you!" The reaction they gave me was the following: "actualization Windows 10= fix problem to fps low thanks too dude" So I'd say give that first option a try!
@@PankajKumar-zr3tv What are you, a wizard?! Keep going and not stopping hasn't been effective for me, I constantly got blasted. Perhaps that works if you save and reload per section, but this definitely wasn't an easy mission to do in one single run

The other two commenters also mention it wasn't an easy mission (a trend seen on other videos of this mission), while other sites on the internet mention this level as either challenging, frustrating, or requires 'extra knowledge'. To then pretty much say this mission is basically a walk in the park is quite odd, not exactly in line with my own experiences as well as the experiences of others. To not get hit is way easier said than done, especially if you 'don't have to stop anywhere'. That beach certainly did disagree with that quote when I was playing the mission
