Potentially phoebe, she never liked Gemma and when she heard bout it all she wasn't shocked at all. She was the first person to come into the room which could've been an excuse as she didn't expect both of them to be in the room, probably only Kate.

Rhys could also not be a real person, he could be an imaginary enemy Joe created in his mind to ignore the fact that he remained a cold-blooded-killer and hasn't changed. He did have multiple hallucinations in past seasons. I also don't think Rhys has been seen interacting with anyone but Joe in the show. However Joe couldn't have killed Gemma as if I remember right he was in an altercation with Roald. and if Rhys is an imaginary character in Joe's mind then it wasn't Rhys. Even if we exclude Kate we still can't really figure out who killed Gemma.

That's a great point, I also found that odd! Another point is that the assassin insists on joe killing marienne - this could be love's order too, either out of jealousy or to get evidence of his murder. That said, I also believe the theory that rhys is in Joe's head (rhys is a real person and his appearance on TV and funeral are what I believe to be his only real appearances) and that all of Joe's interactions with rhys (aside from maybe the first time, when rhys heads off to berlin at the end of the chat) are in his head, with rhys being a split personality joe has created to cope with murdering again as he wants to believe he has changed and its easier to blame this other person while also chosing to manifest a person similar to himself. What I haven't seen anywhere though is a theory of my own. I believe nadia involved, and your theory about love actually would explain some parts that I wasnt able to figure out, like how nadia would know who joe is. Nadia tells us herself, there are no coincidences. Yet she happens to suggest a book to joe that is very similar to Joe's own life story, runs into him 'randomly' a few times, conveniently knows everything about the genre joe needs to know about and is dealing with. There could be multiple things at play, maybe nadia is planted by love. I was trying to see if anybody else had a theory about nadia but couldn't find anything, but I saw an interview with her actress who talked about playing nadia and some answers sounded to me like we were going to see a different side to her. Also, isn't another murder mystery trope "its always the one you least suspect"? Interestingly she didn't mention that one to joe

I think it was something about hallucinating because at the dinner scene in episode 2 joe is talking to Rhys (himself) and Adam notices and says something. Then phoebe distracts before the rest of the group could really focus on what was happening. I think she was trying to protect him from being seen as crazy by talking to himself.

IMHO you can safely watch it. It pauses in a very well thought out plot point. It looks to me like the two parts were planned from the beginning. It's so good as well that one episode feels like at least two. I was thinking about waiting too but I'm glad I didn't. I don't think that it would be worth the risk of possible spoilers.
