Stuffed Longhots:
10 or so Longhot Peppers Cut and Cored (seeds removed)
1 pound sausage mild or hot
About ½ cup of Italian bread crumbs
About ½ cup of parm cheese
½ cup of more of cheddar cheese
Garlic salt to taste
One egg
Combine all ingredients into mixture and stuff into pepper halves
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes
Eat right away or freeze. Can be refrigerated 4-5 days.
To freeze: place peppers on cookie tray and place in freezer for two hours. Remove and place into freezer bags and back into the freezer. Tray freezing will allow you to remove one pepper at a time from the bag without them clumping together.
Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers:
15-20 poppers cut and cored (I tripled the recipe and used a ton)
1- 8 oz pkg of cream cheese or low fat cream cheese
¼ cup bacon bits
4 oz cheddar cheese
Garlic salt to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Add anything that you think will taste good!
Topping: Combine
Half cup bread crumbs
¼ cup parm cheese
Combine all ingredients into mixture and stuff into pepper halves. Dip tops of pepper into the bread crumb and parm mixture.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes
