@@irlminecraftguru You can't. Its not. The House of the Temple was built in 1911-1915. DC was laid out over 100 years prior.

I wish I was that clever. I just needed a nondescript background and found a brick wallpaper image that I though made a nice contrast to my clothes- everything I own is blue or black. Until you mentioned it, I hadn't even noticed it!~M

The double headed eagle is a symbol of Scottish rite freemasonry. There are numerous ways this symbol is interpreted. One is that there is an eagle looking back to tradition and one looking forward towards progress. Also one looking East and one looking west symbolizing that masonry is all around. The list goes on.

I would not say that SR dominates. SR has strong centralized control and YR has less of that. But I wouldn’t say one is dominate.

I have been toying with the idea for about 10 years now (analytical guy - blessing & a curse) and decided to finally take the step. I have been attracted to Freemasonry based I my interest in history, philosophy, new interest in symbolism, male fellowship (I have a wife, two daughters, & even a female dog), making a difference & self-improvement. Your Scottish Rite Podcasts (Tyler & the SR journal) was a big factor as well as lot of others (Whence Came You) for my increased interest. I have read a lot of books of the subject and looking forward to being accepted.

There is no way you can say there is no occultist influence in DC. What about the Washington monument which is symbolic and originated in Kemet or earlier. The reflection pool! Which is symbolic of each side of vail. And the streets being reflected in each quadrant like you double eagle..
