I would like to see him move back to NBL and show he can be of starter quality and thrive. ..you got to be dominant outside USA to be part of NBA. It's double standard but that's just how it is. One fantastic season is all he needs. The big improvement I see is he has grown into his body now,...he moves normal now with the added weight, his back does not hurt anymore due to improved posture, and doesn't tire fast as before. You can see he runs more normal now. If he can improve his long 2s and block shots left handed, he'll be more complete.

PBA should allow 1 and done players to align to NBA pathway. Other countries even allow HS players like Doncic to play professionally at 15y. In Pinas, we made good strides with 2 and done but still they're a year older vs other NBA draft prospects and that just puts them in a bigger disadvantage. Look at Amos, Jumamoy, and Moore, still in UAAP at 20y while Sarr, Perrin and Risacher of France are 19/20 going into NBA already this year due to having played already 1 year of professional basketball.

Nice topic , thanks I think Kai Sotto is also wanting to be on the NBA and yes teaming up with the Spurs Bigs Like Wembanyama with Coach Pop they will have twin towers that can compliment each other's game , plus Joining the Magic in last year's Summer League Kai despite injured have limited minutes where he got a decent avarage for those limited minutes, Kai also Competes In the World Cup where He faced great Centers in the NBA Like Towns and Former Laker Gabriel and other imports in Japan That are also former NBA Players , so the level of Physicality that he faced in Japan and FIBA plus Australia's NBL. I think It will only be a matter of time when He plays Healthy on a Team that will give him Minutes Like the National Team Gilas Pilipinas that he will be able to show his Worth on any team he is at because of his Lenght and his abilities as a Center or Forward player , he just need a team in the NBA that needs his style of play to Compliment their Core. Kai Sotto is a Wasserman kid and Ronzone and his agents will help him reached his dream but He needs to make sure he is Healthy when He And Gilas Pilipinas faces Latvia And Georgia who has NBA Players on their National Team Too and they are tough teams too so in Olympic Qualifying Tournament like that and In Japan League he needs to be alaways ready to perform to convince more scouts that he's worth a Shot.

So many great players out there in Europe and Latin America but not getting in NBA because you have to be dominant and not just great to have a chance. 25+ppg gets you in their radar. Look at the foreigner calibers that made the NBA - top tiers like Vucevic, Sengun, Jokic, SGA, Barrett, Doncic, Porzingis, KAT...they dominated their respective country leagues (MVPs, international titles/Olympic showings, or at least mythical 5) before they get in.

It's easy to look for his highlights. Yesterday, B-League released his highlights. Japan B-League is becoming one of the premier basketball leagues in the world. Even has better teams than the NBL. There are players there who's played in the NBA just recently and Kai out performed all of them. Each team has 4 NBA caliber international players. So you can imagine how good he has gotten. But don't just take what I said. Watch his games. He will be playing in the FIBA OQT playing against Latvia's Porzingis and other NBA players. 15 NBA scouts will be watching him and if he performs well, he will get an NBA contract. He is the highest paid B-League player, even higher than a player's salary in the NBA with a 2 way contract. He just turned 22 and he will surprise most NBA fans. Besides, he played for an NBL team that beat the Phoenix Suns and he scored 11 points in that game for only 16 minutes.

Also, it was a preseason game, players arent going all that hard and the coach experiments with rotations. Also, Kai Sotto was given more than enough chances if you ask me: 1.) he played for the g-league ignite then left to play in the phillipines. Big mistake. 2.) at least 13 nba teams gave him private work outs & rumor has it he did not look good in any of them. There was a report for one of the teams that he worked out with that he looked slow, lack explosiveness, missed majority of his shots in the shooting drills, & looked tired/gassed running through the drills. Probably was sick idk. He also suffered an injury during one of his workouts for an unknown nba team. Yeah maybe thats why no team drafted him in 2022. 3.) After he went undrafted in 2022, he had the opportunity to play in the summer league but chose not to but instead again went to play with the phillipine national team. I'm pretty sure he's better than Bronny James though.

Also, if I recall, Devin Booker wasnt even playing. Also, he had at least 13 private nba workout invitations prior to the 2022 draft. Thats a lot of teams that gave him a chance. He didnt impress and actually got injured during one of those private workouts for an unknown nba team. Thats why he didnt get drafted.

We can't compare both players because they both playing on different levels.Edey plays for college but sotto playing against veterans and imports in the NBL and Japan.He also have NBA experience playing against phoenix suns scoring 11 pts in just 10 mins playing time.Edey is not tested until he goes pro.Kai will be scouted against porzingis team latvia this upcoming olympic qualifiers tournament.He will be playing as a starting center, so let's see how it goes.
