Larry had the highest basketball IQ of anyone I ever saw. Larry was always one step ahead of everyone else , when it came to anticipating and seeing things develop on the court. It's been said Larry was a legit 6'10. Larry had a great stroke. It would be very interesting to see Larry play in today's game with guys jacking up 3's non stop. He'd be a sniper but also dominate in the mid range. The legend was such a competitor that he would have been great in any era.

Stop with the Jordan stuff. Before Magic & Bird NBA games weren't even televised. They were shown on tape delay. Then, at the height of the NBA's popularity magic(hiv) & bird (injury)suddenly retire the NBA took a huge hit. But, they still ha 15:20 d a similar rivalry between championship caliber teams in the veteran Bad Boys of Detroit Pistons v. The upstart Chicago Bulls w/young phenom MJ. After the Pistons were defeated by Chicago and succumb to age, the league freaked out. There were no more great team rivalries, which had been so successful with Celtics/ Lakers & Pistons/Bulls to promote. So, they adopted a new model. Instead of promoting teams, we will transition to promoting the individual stars of the league. And, the biggest star, on the championship team was Michael Jordon. So was born the JORDAN RULES! Mike needed to be front and center for the league. As Mike went, so went the league. Mike sorta referred his own games. Regs would look to Mike to tell them if he had been fouled. Regs would watch mines shot and, if it didn't go in, it often drew a late whistle. Sometimes, when the shot would hit the front of the rim, & then the glass& then back on the rim, and then rolls around the cylinder, seemingly hanging in the air, before finally falling off the rim, as the sound of the referees whistle rings out simultaneously. Mike was fouled! Again! I hated it, as did all the opposing teams & players. But, they also understood that Mike was, a big reason why NBA salaries had grown exponentially since Larry, Magic,& the days of the celtics Lakers rivalry. Every player understood you could not breath on Michael without drawing a foul. It ruined the competitive balance in the league and kept the Bulls & Michael center stage throughout the playoffs and the championship rounds. Mike got every benefit of every doubt, and some that were not doubts. So from my perspective, Michael Jordan did more to ruin what had attracted so many fans (focus on competitive team rivalries) versus a focus on promoting individual players & personalities. .

Sports wasn’t sports until black men joined and I’m white and proud to be white but also I’m proud of our American black athletes. We are the best because of them. When my son asks about Babe Ruth, I tell him it doesn’t count until blacks played…..

You see Larry was automatic clutch when anything was on the line including trash talk! Definitely the best trash talker and the second best of all time tied with Jordan.... Nobody will beat Wilt's record

Getting tired of seeing videos discussing Bird as a trash talker as if that is what he is best remembered for.

Not buying anything IT says about Bird. He agreed with Rodman's statement and tried to play it off as sarcasm. I heard the recording. He meant it. He's a bigot and continues to double down to this day. LB's put it behind him because he's that kind of guy.

History wants us to think Jordan dunked and Bird shot 3 pointers and while it is true Bird did it all and at all cost to win.

I'm being a homer here, but I think a player on next level attitude and a sweet back-step perimeter shooter that plays like Larry Bird would be LUKA DONCIC. It would be an epic battle of shooting if Bird were still playing. Go Mavs Finals 2024 😁
