I never thought I'd want to go to Cartagena again because I thought it was just parties, beaches, tourists, and clubs. I was gladly mistaken on my second time around. We saw many different sights, ate great food, met amazing people, and it was overall inexpensive. From the beaches, the volcanoes, and the pink salt lakes. There is so much to see that I would not mind coming back for another trip!
We went to Playa Blanca, Salinas de Galerazamba, Toured with Beyond Colombia's free walking tour, and Palenque.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute of this vlog. I am going to Cartagena in March 2023, so I have been watching many vlogs, but where this video differs is that you showed a less touristy side to the city. Loved the narration and the sharing of the history of the land. I need to watch this again with my note pad and pen. AND if no one is going to mention it, I guess I will... it helped the guy presenting this was real nice to look at, as well as to listen to, too haha! Definitely subscribing for more video posts!

All taxis are super cheap under $5 and I would recommend using google translate. When you say old town ,are you talking off walled city or where you talking off? Going April off 2022 going to take your word n stay in this old town.

I stayed inside the walled city but everything is very close. I would highly recommend it. You can save money and stay outside of the walled city as well. Also, taxis are all less than $5 to almost anywhere inside Cartagena.

I have some questions, if you don't mind. Planning to go to Cartagena. Do you recommend changing money in the states or when you get there? If in the states, where did you get your money? If there, where? If you don't take the tours approximately how much Cartagena money do you suggest a person get so they don't end up taking a lot home? Do they take American money? How much American money do you suggest a person carry? Did you use credit cards at all? I appreciate any guidance and/or suggestion you can offer. Thank you.

I personally changed my money from the tellers in Cartagena. At the airport, they give you a horrible rate. Inside the city, you can change money from a bank or any money exchange place for a better rate. It really depends on what you plan on doing, how long you will be there and how many people are accompanying you. We didn't do any tours and we split all our costs amongst each other. I was there for 5 days and brought $250 with me. I had my flight and Airbnb paid for before hand though. Cartagena is inexpensive . Some places take cards but not all. The only people who took my American money were taxis, some restaurants, and people who work in tourism. However, they usually give you money at a bad rate as well

I don't know why but I keep thinking that this trip may be like my trips to Mexico many, years ago where they tried to cheat you at every turn whatever it came to paying for something using the local money. I am hoping Cartagena is not like that. I am very much looking forward to my trip with a group of women. We are sharing an Airbnb also. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

It was not a hotel, I actually stayed with 15 guys. It was an Airbnb. It was a 15 bed and 15 bath in the colonial zone.

This was a 15-bedroom 15 bathroom Airbnb that I went to with some of my guys. You have to book the whole thing and cant get individual rooms

If you plan to stay in Cartagena no. However, if you plan to go outside of the city as we did then it would be easier as you have stated.

Shoot I wish I had it but it was just a guy who we found and negotiated with. I would tell you in cartagena there are ubers and taxis are very inexpensive
