HIDDEN GOLD IN CD/DVD ROM!!! 

Thank you for the video. I know taking those read/write heads apart is a TON of work. I just took apart 60 or so. Never thought to video them for my channel, thank you for this! Those cylindrical components are called laser diodes (emits light) and the flat components are called photo diodes (receives light). Some of the DVD-ROM versions have 100% gold plated laser diodes and are really great to view under the microscope. I’m saving mine up in a small medical bottle to process the gold. Takes a TON of material. Happy prospecting!

They are brass with gold plating on them

I have done thousands of them over the years.. In short,,, if it has a lazer, it has gold in it. Read wright CDs' will have 2, one reads and one writes

Some of the more expensive ones have 3 Lazer diod
