Hidden Meaning Behind TGCF Character Names | SPOILERS! | Heaven Official's Blessing | 天官赐福 

Not a name but for the silver butterflies, I accidentally found out their true meanings when I was writing a poem for tgcf. Apparently, silver represents (not sure if its the same in English but I was searching for Chinese poetry reps) a few things and one of them is 永恒 or "forever". Butterflies on the other hand only have one partner for their entire life thus they are the representation of loyalty. IN CONCLUSION, Hua Cheng is forever loyal to his husband and MXTX is a damn genius

Enjoyed this video so much!! I already knew a few of the meanings but hearing how MXTX really put thought into every single character when naming them just warms my heart. It shows just how dedicated she is to her story and how each of these characters hold a special place in her heart as well. I think the one I really liked was Qi Rong's one where the character "Gu" was being protected by the little roof on top, foreshadowing how he protects Guzi in the end. Just Perfect! Can't wait to hear more meanings behind the names!

Wow that was what I loved about the writer. Ingenious writing and even when you were describing them it made me cry for some reason. It reminded me that our names could be tied up to our fate or to our personality. I love Xie Lian and Wind Master even more!

i finished tgcf last night and only a minute in the “if your dream is to save the common people, then my dream, is only you.” line was mentioned and that is my weakness i immediately started crying

I had known about most of these characters but Wind Master's was really interesting and his character is admirable because even though he sustained so many injuries and had his world turned upside down, he still kept hope.

When u mentioned the wind master name especially the qing part I had an understanding of MxTx other book svsss. One of the main characters from svsss has qing in his name, so I was like “no wonder he wears blue or green in the anime/novel”.

Another thing about the name QiRong: In chinese, 'Qi' can also mean 'sorrow' and 'Rong' 'facial expression', so to me as a native Chinese speaker, at first glance the name itself indicates that this is a tragic character (which turns out to be true)

As an aspiring writer, usually when you start developing story after some scenario or scene played in you mind, you start with character development first. Before even start putting the story together, you’d normally have a clear idea of different characters and how they would be related or played out and some background (in different depth depending on how significant that character is in the story) . Also, there is no more fun than using hints and foreshadowing in stories (at least for me) lol.

my first encounter with MXTX's character name-play was GDC's SiZhui. I had bullet comments flashing in my head going like: the heck your uncle is going to respond to this. Adopt a child and naming him...gahhh first of all this is the responsibility of a father isnt it and now as a father you named him what?! Oh god, this has ABSOLUTELY no difference from standing on a stage with a loudspeaker yelling comeback i miss you. oh lord the whole clan + the neighboring clans would know. Is THIS how Lan clan people fall in love and pda?! Arent you guys the walking textbook of decency and formality. How are they going to recover from THIS much of information..😨😨😨 yup i cracked at that moment.
