I know about Tommy the Clown from the film "Rize" that I saw in Brookline, MA. Kendrick is wearing white for a reason. When he's smiling and waving at the end he's waving to Drake who (on the same day) was at the "White Party" in Long Island with a bunch of celebrities and wealthy people. That was a genius-level move.
I was born in 1982. Currently 42. I saw Tommy The Clown on The Pop Out and scared my wife as I yelled out: "HE'S STILL AROUND!" Because Tommy The Clown came to my middle school to put on a show with his group. You know you're legendary when being called The Clown is a sign of respect.
I’m from Louisiana when I was young we had internet and computers and laptops because my dad worked in tech and dancing was a big part of my black community in a small town in the south and we use to watch the videos this was before people got paid for RU-vid and the RU-vid rest lol.
I mean the video of Tommy that’s how I knew of him and the kids dancing and I’m pretty sure he was on dance tv shows too. I’m pretty sure when they tried to type wash them and wasn’t letting black teams compete
The most diabolical analysis I've heard about the owl was the first shot we see the owl is from the owls perspective. staring down kendrick, clearly out matched. Then the 2nd shot is from kendrick's POV and he's caged, but doesnt even realize that he's stuck, unable to move around and fly. All a caged bird can do is sing.
when everyone's blowing you up, its not cuz anyone is upset with you, but because they are eager to share their special knowledge. "do you know who big L is" 💀the shade 🤣🤣
The Kamasi line also may be a shout out to the fact that Kamasi Washington released a fire album the day 6:16 in LA/Family Matters/Meet the grahams came out and killed the hype. I felt bad when I realized on Sunday Kamasi dropped and I hadn't even thought about it. Great album.
He also wore all white, while drake was in a all white party in canada two hours in . This man is surgical with his execution's, while he smiled and wave at the camera (or at Drake), meaning he had his own party in LA, while drake was in a all white party.
Lol. The fact you think Kendrick knows where drake is at every point.😂😂. This is a reach. Not every thing you see is a plan. Something's are called coincidences
The wave scene is just cold man, even without thinking about Drake's party. Kendrick is saying goodbye to the beef all smiling like "yeah that was pretty fun for me man, can't wait to do it again next year". Amazing performance
@@jonenih White Party by Michael Rubin - basically rich white guy parading his famous "friends" - happens every 4th of July and Drake always been invited. Wouldn't be hard to guess he'd be there. There's an extra layer to that: the invitation for the Party is an individualized framed painting. Like the one Kdot has facing backwards in the cell shots.
@@EversonBernardes that's a Willie C outfit. Kendrick didn't dress himself. And seeing as it's a proper fit. It was probably chosen and prepared a while back. I wish this layered aspect that I love so much was true. But boy you reaching. Is there proof prior to the white party that drake was going to attend? The theory I have of the picture on the floor and not on the wall is to Drake's statement of "Y'all have my pictures on the wall when you cook up..." I could be wrong. But I could be right. Point is they are all theories. And coincidences bring about theories most times.
@@jonenih guests to the party had received their invitations by mid May. Kendrick has proven he has OVO snitches, he'd know. Edit: apparently Drake posted his invitation painting as a story in May 17th, so yeah, it was known for a fact he was attending.
I need a Cali version hopefully with Snoop Dogg since he couldn't make it to the Pop Out. AND a USA version with Future, Rick Ross, ASAP Rocky, and/or even MeganTheeStallion . It's also wild to think that the probability isn't 0 that Tyler The Creator and/or Rihanna could also be involved. 😅 The FIRST Tyler and Kendrick collab and the first Rihanna feature in YEARS, could be on a Drake diss remix?!
Please react to Whats the dirt Kendrick lamar 6:16 in LA breakdown. Best breakdown on RU-vid for any Kendrick song and makes alot of Drake allegations seem more believable tbh.
Thirding this recommendation! Also [Deleted] 's Not like us video gets into history in a way that I was NOT expecting. Highly recommend bur also ooof, heavy. Literally titled, The Dark Creepy Eerie Messages in Not Like Us. They are at times doing that thing where they are talking while video of them playing a random game is shown, but I PROMISE it's worth it. It was through them that I saw the SECOND video of Drake saying the n-word with the hard er. He's done it TWICE!! That Kendrick line wasn't surface level, Drake literally speaks it wrong. In songs and more recently he gets it right, but when speaking it, using it in conversation, on two different occasions -ER.
Major respect to you for doing this video and apologizing. Funny you said something about Kendrick directing something bc it’s rumored he’s been quietly working on something with the creators of South Park!! Kenny’s sense of humor is incredible so I know whatever those 3 guys do will be brilliant and hilarious
I saw someone mention that all shipping containers are labelled and start with CB1, like Cell Block 1! And human trafficking. And the packaging and shipping of black American culture around the world.
@@colette2034 Agreed, Colette. Someone on the Joe Budden podcast also pointed out that the containers were all white, but the dancers are African American, which is in line with packaging and shipping black American culture.
Whitney was wearing a wife beater ......also there's a FAN spinning above them while they are dancing and he says "he a fan he a fan he a fan" All the shipping containers have CB1 on it (Cell Block 1)... and the 10 when hes doing hopscotch stands for 1-2-3-4-5 + 5 aswel as the obviously childrens game the shot with the owl alone is crazy ; the symbolism in that single shot is mad, Owls are predators who eat other animals for food , He caged a predator , the owl is looking at kendrick being "Free" From its POV , from Kendricks POV the owl is in jail , is he saying drake belongs in jail . also the owl is bowing down while kendrick is walking away . the whole damn shot is so multi layered Also the hand dance hes doign during the pushup scene is a refrence to a viral tiktok dance drake did with a 17 year old Baptism by Fire : The family matters and the truth of the matter it was god's plan to show y'all the liar This song encapsulates the overwhelming anxiety I felt trying to club and rave while battling mental health issues, endless nights of trying to enjoy life only to feel hollowed and rejected, lost, blinded by the lights.
I’m 45 ❤ watching Tommy n the Tsquad perform since my brother 5th bday party ( he’s 32 now) Tommy has performed at myyyyy own kids party and soooooo many more ! They shut ish down!!!!!! And the price just went up! Wessyde
I'm was born in the Caribbean and partially grew up in western Europe (still live there). English is my third language and I knew who Tommy the Clown was back in 2005. I'm not saying you should've known, I'm just surprised how much of a isolated world on its own New York apparently is.
One other point missed was that the cargo containers were white and the dancers were wearing black. Symbolizing the exportation of culture and/or trafficking.
Also, the door knock at the beginning of the video is tied to the walk off dance at the end of the third verse in the video. Here is the explanation. 1) the knock mimics the line “Shave and a haircut. Two bits” from the 1899 Charles Hale song “At A Darktown Cakewalk”. 2) Darktown was the name of a black neighborhood in Atlanta in the 1800s. 3) Cakewalk is a dance rooted in slavery. During slavery, slave masters would force their slaves to engage in dance contests to entertain them and their white guests. The prize was a cake. One of the dances was one in which the slaves were mocking how their masters walked. This became known as the cakewalk. 3) the dance that Kendrick and the T Squad Dancers were doing at the end of the third verse (about drake taking all those elements from Atlanta rappers) was a version of the cakewalk.
kendrick needs to do a remix like the game did for one blood. it was like 11 minutes long and had a lot of the heavy hitters from that era or rap. imo its a legendary remix
Kendrick came out and turned every verse of his diss track into a visual and highlighted it all to everyone and to be people to produce his own music video where every clip is a visual diss to drake is crazy because every clip had a hidden meaning towards him and he created a masterpiece to his diss!!! Undefeated! But also in my opinion, on drakes actions after this diss track, and for drake to not retaliate at all just proves the point that everything Kendrick said was true and drakes trying to sweep it under the carpet
I'm a bit pissed, that we all HAVE to be missing things. There are probablt things so nuanced and small, that Kendrick and folks involved in the video shoot are the only ones who know it! And unless someone says it, we will never know. NEVER. I'm too nosy, I need the directors notes for the video.
Someone who has NEVER done an imaginary Stomp The Yard style krump battle, by themselves? Just flailing in their bedroom but in your head you are HITTING IT. There are folks who never pulled something trying to imitate krumping?! Is it more of a West coast thing? I really assumed the krump wave was national, but now I'm wondering if part of why I know about it is because I'm a West coaster? Or it's as widespread as I thought, and he just never encountered it, which is also intriguing.
I'm a 80s baby, 90s kid from Cali. I never wanted to believe NYers refused to even understand us, but I guess it's true. Of course we studied hip hop's origins, so we at least tried to understand NY... so yes, we know who Big L is. I'm glad you are interested in learning some of our significant figures now... Also, some of the info in this video is just a reach. But it'll give you a start
I just came home from Jhene Aiko's concert in south florida (it was great) and lemmie tell ya...the DJ put this on and it was one of the loudest moments of the night when it got to A MINORRRR. That was Drake's core audience: under 30 girls and women. They were ONE in their singing of Not Like Us. That man is losing his core audience, and fast.
If it is a remix of Not Like Us, I think it will include Metro, Future, J Cole and others. Imagine rappers from Memphis, even OG like Rakim. This is a movement
I'm born in the 80s, raised in Atlanta in the 90s, I know Tommy & the Krump clowns. Also know of Big L because many New York artists reference him. But I get what you're saying.
You must have been pretty young in the 90's. I grew up in NYC too and Tommy was pretty well known in East New York and Flatbush sections of Brooklyn where I mostly hung.
Big L is the reason I bought a pair of Reeboks "L keeps rappers hearts pumpin like Reeboks" while listening to his song Ebonics to understand American slang better after I first heard his name be mentioned on Gang Starr's Full Clip. Big L rest in peace
There's sooooo much the dude who made the video missed as well... Time of releasing the album. Outfits he chose. What demar wore. You can write an analytical essay breaking this song down... its actually insane.
This might be too crazy but I'd like to watch a movie with John wick -like MC who's known as the Boogeyman with Not Like Us' instru as a soundtrack. Imagine, the bloody man walking down the street while hearing "I see dead people"😅
A Friday/Deebo, 'tuck your chain' reference would be mandatory! Oh wait..... Could it be a soundtrack of Kendrick songs? I wanna watch full on pro fight choreo with incredible cinematography; of somebody getting mollywopped to "If I gotta slap a p---y a-s n---a, imma make it look sexy." 😂
I like how he used a barn owl in the cage the one owl that doest say who but screech's llike a banshee and are awkward looking when compared to the other owl's who are much more majestic looking lol that's gotta have some meaning to because nobody likes the barn owls' in general even farmers dont like them that much especially if they have barn cats who are there for the rats then the farmer has starving cats and a full barn owl that screech's at random times lol
Yo! you good I don't expect anybody to know Tommy the clown it's a california thing. Biomass of glad that you give him him his crops. He been doing it for a long time.
And kendricks I Hate the way you ... .......That from a interview where Dmx Was asked about his feelings on Drake and , that's dmx's Resomnce He hated the way he talked the way he walked ..etc . as a nod to Dmx and showing how the industry saw drake. they knew
Bro I ain’t mad at you. I wouldn’t have known either except I lived in South Central from 1980 to 1995. You good with me I still enjoy all your content. It’s a west coast thing, I got it. Bottom line is Drake made a huge mistake, because he IS a colonizer, just straight facts.
