And shows the impact of the gravity he can produce within only a few hours. Which is why I don’t mind him taking a few years to create his masterpieces. He made Not Like Us at a snap of a finger and it instantly charted. Showing he’s well capable of doing so. But that’s not what he’s about, at all. Not Like Us wasn’t even near his best work. And it wasn’t even about boasting himself. It was all about boasting his people. It wasn’t called ‘Not Like ME’

But did he write it though? Taylor Made (which I think he wrote) showed me how superficial Drake is, because he had the voice of PAC and could not say anything of substance or depth with it. @michaelrichards5340
@michaelrichards5340 Месяц назад
@@shaspearman8647Drake is not capable of making conscious music due to a clear self absorption from his day one music, consciousness in music comes from the person's environment, in Hip Hop which is black music, it comes from how we're raised, the streets, the struggles, the wins, the Ls, that's why Eminem was able to stand out as a white rapper when he made songs like If I had, toy soldier which is almost the same as blacker the berry from Kendrick where they are both discussing how their environment shapes who they are, Eminem grew up similar to most black ppl and it's usually from harsh realities they faced, that then connects with people like me that endured similar shit, Drake grew up in a rich white family... That's why he's always smiling, as a kid I was charismatic an was capable of crazy code switching so I met kids like Drake with the same comfort smile, where their biggest problem is how uncomfortable a car ride is lol.. that's why he's always taking about himself, correct me if I'm wrong because I usually skip Drake but from what I've listened, when Drake says "girl I gotta watch my back, cause I'm not just anybody" and I've always said to myself, nigga ain't nobody looking for you lmao" the most u did was hurt a couple ppl feelings with your selfish ways. I could pretty much guess that Drake has a lot of white fans who are either middle class or rich

Someone like Kendrick who has tried to remain humble and not let fame get to his head, and go to therapy shows he is making an effort to be as good a person as they can be. Drake is one of the biggest reasons why music has deteriorated so much in the last 15 years. Some people actually think Drake can sing because he does it so often, yet no one would pay to go to a Drake concert with him just singing for over an hour. He also made it acceptable that all you need is a good beat for (young) people to like a song, no matter what the lyrics are. Something that back in the day wasn't the case, we had artists and group in allmusic genres experimenting with sounds that usually feel like time capsules. Most Drake beats and songs feel generic because most work is put in making and producing the beats and not in writing the lyrics or song structure to aim for it to become a timeless piece. Instead Drake's music feels like fast food music because it sounds like it's coming from an assembly line and in hindsight that's why probablyDrake's best album will always be Take Care because singer/songwriter The Weeknd wrote half of that album

this is further proof why Taylor Made Freestyle was and is the absolute dumbest thing Drake did in this beef. You need positive public perception in a beef and Drake divided that with the not clever or intuitive AI Tupac, and Drake painted himself AS THE VILLAIN IN THE BEEF. Drake for some dumb reason wanted to be the bad guy and played the heel. He even continues this in his other tracks. He never made himself look like the person to root for which is why Kendrick even calls him a Jabroni which is another name for a Jobber in wrestling. Drake also lost the 20v1 angle the second he released Taylor Made cause that song was solely for Kendrick to "Come outside" it was no longer a 20v1 at that point and Kendrick said "Bet". it was a 1v1 but Drake went at everyone again cause he has already made the song and video and didnt have enough on Kendrick

It's interesting that Drake is more known as the actor when Kendrick shows his acting chops through his music. He raps like a voice actor embodying the character, narrative, emotion, etc. His lyrics are pure poetry and the feeling behind that poetry comes out in the drama he put into his voice. In the beef you can hear moments where he's taunting Drake and others where he lets himself sound passive aggressive and then parts where he sounds like a pouty child talking to another kid on the playground ("you dont wanna work with me nomore okay." Almost bringing the idea of talking down to Drake as if he's the big 7 year old he acts like. That adds great texture in a rap.

Bruh, you brought truuuffff! Thank you! You know that of which you speak! Esperanza Spalding, "Cinnamon Tree," her bass work, the richness of her artistry is real. All Drake had to say she was "gettin all the praises." You saw Kendrick for his human connection and his respect for the richness of our roots. That's what Drake is missing, connection to his black lineage. So he uses others to write for him, to style for him, to choreo for him, and to siphon off a bit of their community clout for him. There's a mechanical, robotic, technical stroke from Drake's work; but from Kendrick you uncover a whole consideration, a full measure, a complete story, and a real connection. "Who give a f Michelle Obama put you on her playlist?" Drake says...like that's a diss on her. He just showed how little he knows and how much less he cares to know. He only dissed himself with that empty line! And that's why we all stood ten toes down behind Kendrick. The whole picture matters. The REAL family matters!

I will say Drake had the potential to cater to the music junkies, but he hasn’t been that guy for a loooooong time. He definitely fell in love with the lights and glamour. Little Bit, Fear, and other songs likes that are what comes to mind

??? Last time i checked Kanye technically won that beef. I mean, he was in the process of falling off anyways due to unrelated issues, but i remember that being the general consensys when his ex-wife pulled out the recording of t-swizzie consenting to the lyrics and video.

There’s no way Kanye was affected by the Taylor thing. Only the J£ws defeated Ye otherwise he’d have won more Grammies from when he was barred to perform. Kendrick has no reason to attack Taylor and that was Drake’s angle trying to rile him to respond to the Taylor remarks and it’s great that he avoided it cos the beef was 1 on 1 unlike Drake that wanted to mention all his peers for validation in the beef.
