Congratulations. This whole week will be nerve racking but once you settle down, you’ll get a hang of things fast. Let us know when you graduate so we can congratulate you again. Good luck. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m 19 and after I graduated high school I had no idea what I wanted to do I always wanted to join the military but didn’t know if it was a good idea. I’ve been looking into the Air Force a lot then i found your channel and I’ve been watching your videos. You motivated me on joining the Air Force so no Im in the process of talking to a recruiter and getting everything together. Thank you!!
That’s awesome. I’m really glad I could help and inspire. I hope everything works out and when you make it happen, lemme know so I can congratulate you. Good luck. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I always come back to your videos when I’m feeling like I’ve lost just about all motivation, but certain things pull me out my chair, gives me a second look on myself. Been talking to my recruiter a lot more cause of you
Ayee. That’s what’s up. I’m glad I could help. Hopefully you make this decision and let us all know when you graduate, so we can congratulate you. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Please stand corrected. 1:58, the American Express Platinum card is NOT available to all military. Only ones who are currently on Active Duty, not prior service veterans.
Been binging your content. Very insightful. You should be a recruiter! Even these insights clear doubt one will have. Appeal to their needs. Your approach is cool !
Jody!! I been constantly re watching your videos for about a year. That’s how long my journey has been. All great content!! Now I’m leaving for BMT April 12 🙌🏽 looking forward to viewing future videos! Shout out from Guam 🇬🇺 671!! Much love 🤙🏽
Ayeeee. Congratulations. Im glad I could help you along the way and thanks for the support. Im wishing you good luck with the rest of the process. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
your videos are really really informative! i am so amped about joining the navy. I have a question. with the servicemember civil relief act [when i join] can i use that to reduce the monthly cost of my rent/mortage back home? lets say i pay 1800 a month on a house can it reduce it down to lets say, 1200? I would love to hear your astute insight. Thank you.
Unfortunately it wouldn’t work that way. It only works on high interest debt. It can however help you terminate a lease if need be, but no lower payments. My best advice for your situation would be to find a renter before leaving for basic, or sell the previous home (if you own it). Without doing either of these, you’ll find it extremely difficult to live on new airman pay. Now if you have dependents and you’re trying to pay the bills for them while gone, the Air Force will pay you your BAH to help with that.
Like who are you and where did you come from, lol! I am prior service and have been a USAA member since 2006, and I never ever knew about thos program!🙏🏽 Thank you so much!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Lol. I’m trying to be who I wish I had when I was joining. Lol. But seriously I’m a recruiting instructor for the Air Force. I do all of these videos so I can help all of the new applicants joining, and all of the new recruiters who need information to show new applicants.
Talked to a air force recruiter through TikTok, he said I have to be off anxiety meds for 12 months and I can join, can you second that and would you mind linking documentation explaining? Thanks man
I gotta video which can help you understand the medical waiver process a little better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ynKjsxegEPE.html
Thanks for the advice man! I'm gonna try applying for the AMEX Platinum card. Been watching you throughout my whole airforce career, love your videos keep up the great work! 👍🔥
I got dreadlocks and I Thank God for blessing me with my hair, how do things work when it comes to having hair? I understand some things but will I be able to grow it again after bmt?
Not dreads. They’ll cut it off at basic, and after that you can only grow it to 2 inches in bulk, and you can’t do dreads. You gotta ask yourself if it’s worth cutting the dreads, or if the dreads are worth missing a great opportunity. That’s the important question.
I'm 19 and Joining the Space Force. Can you please explain what BAH is? And can I use a BAH in combination with a FAH Loan? Also, can I attend Colleague while on active duty? Are there any assistance programs for the colleague? I know I can google these things, but you get straight to the point and simple! Also thanks for the Content. BTW pls link any videos you've made regarding these topics or more!
Money video explaining BAH- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zs7IMHst3vg.html And yes we have tuition assistance up to $4500 a year. You also have the GI bill which pays up to 36 months of school. And you can go to college while serving, but most people do online courses because of time. I hope this helps. 🤙🏽
Can you make a video about tips on what you should do with your stuff prior to going to bmt? For me I am a single parent. Do I have to put my my stuff up in a storage myself or ? 🙃
Yep. Storage would be a good idea, or if you have any loved ones with whom you can leave it with, that’ll work too. Then when you graduate tech school, you can have get all of your stuff and ship it (or haul it yourself) to your new base. This video might help. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WU6mQ-ewLWY.html
I’m sure that the active and fit program applies. I know that the service member civil service relief act and the education benefits can apply, but you have to meet service time requirements to qualify. And the credit card is for active duty members..
i’m 17 and i just graduated high school. i’m going to be joining in july if my eye consult results come back positive. i’m so excited and hope i can join. these videos reassure me that i’m gonna enjoy being in the air force
What about the benefit of not having to claim your parents income on the fasfa after 6 months of service…this is a huge benefit for young people who’s parents make good money but can’t pay for college!
man, i just joined the air force, been in tech school now for only a month, thanks so much for this video, super informing, probably gonna get the American Express Platinum ASAP
Yooo that active and fit might be the move for me too, also that Amex Plat is really something else, not to mention other perks of that card, glad I got it as soon as I got out of basic
@@Jodywithawhy If I’m not mistaken Chase Sapphire Reserve has the same offer for military people, waived off annual fee, just not too familiar with their benefits tho.
@Jodywithawhy I feel like something that isn’t touched upon much is the Clep testing and Dante program. If you haven’t made a video on it, do you think you could do an overview/general guide of it?
It really depends on the location and situation. Sometimes green card holders leave quickly, and sometimes it takes awhile. It’ll be really hard to give you a solid timeline, but I’d say expect 3-9 months of waiting.
I been in 28 years and wasn’t training the USAA fitness program with local gyms. Need to check that out since like you l life off base and not driving to the base just to use the gym.
my son just received his job and a ship date for April. He and his fiancé plan to get married soon. Will their possibly be an issue with his ship date if they go ahead and get married right now?
No. He should be fine. He would just have to update his marriage to his recruiter and get the marriage certificate, her social security card and drivers license
Hi Ive took the Asvab a few times and after i passed i have changed my mind but my dream is to flight commercial planes but I also want the experience of the military. Can you please explain what do i need to do the pilot training. Thank you for your inspiration.
You first need to have a bachelors degree. With that you can apply to become an officer in the Air Force. You’d let them know you’re trying to be a pilot and they can help get your process started.
Where can I get more information about the loan relief program… i heard joining any military will help me reduce a lot of my loans… do you have any video on that?
Watching all ur videos from beginning to end has made me wanting to go through this process much more exciting and ready for a growth of change. Ur Mariah story really moved me because I’m 23 & I too myself feel as though If I continue to stay in my current environment I’ll either end up in jail or dead and I want a new environment for growth and change before it’s too late. Keep making this amazing content , ur virtually recruiting through RU-vid while also being fully transparent. Not painting the Air Force to be all glitter and gold. Much respect to you Jody❤. Thanks for making what was once a scary journey an exciting one I can’t wait to see what my next 6 years hold after writing this comment 🙏🏾
So good, thanks for always providing such great info as always! I heard about some of these (the card especially lol) but it’s nice to hear the details laid out so plainly. Shipping out soon as a cryptolinguist, I’m excited!
Jody, you referral link for the AMEX plat card brings me to the business plat card, not sure if you can fix it to direct people to the personal platinum card.
I tried to fix it, but because I have both a business and personal, it defaults to the business. You can still use that link, however you just want to make sure you apply for the personal one instead. I hope that makes sense.
@@Jodywithawhy I did and got approved, I used your referral link so hopefully you'll get some bonus points! just curious, I hear in the video you say for military members, I just joined the Air Guard and I'm digging a bit more into this, just wondering if the $700 fee is only waived for active duty or title 10 members and not all military members like the guard and reserve?
Most of these apply to active but some of this applies to guard and reserve as well. I left links in the description that can help you get more familiar with qualifications.
I've been looking at enlisting, and one of the things driving it is the high-interest credit card I have and the loss of job due to Covid. This definitely adds more interest to it. I appreciate the videos you put up, as it gets a lot of info out there for us.
You can. There’s two options. If the Air Force deems you need them for medical reasons, they’ll pay for them. If not you’ll have to pay outta pocket. I hope this helps.
@@Jodywithawhy yea that definitely helps I’m trying my best to get in this year. I failed my asvab twice so I had to wait 6 months. I go bacc & take it on April 15!
