Tutorial on how to use JavaScript in a form object's exit event to give the end user the ability hide a form element at runtime. www.pdfformshel... www.truetechtro...
I believe it is. You would simply need to create fields that display or hide based on the actions of the user. The tricky part would be getting the form to match the "workflow" logic. But it is possible and I have done it before. If you need additional help, contact me through the truetechtroubleshooting blog.
Thank you for posting this video. This is a very useful procedure. Do you know of an easy way to display the hidden field again after it has been hidden without using a button?
Hi Nathan. Thanks for your tutorial we learned a lot. Recently I used radio button with a caption of "No" to hide some fields on my form using invisible script. It worked well however I would like to know if you know a script that will delete a field when selecting a "No" radio button. Thanks in advance
Could you do this to make a modular form? In other words lets say at the top I have 5 check boxes and when one is checked it puts fields, groups of fields and/or text elements onto the form. Also if it is unchecked it will take them away?
Hi, Nathan. I am looking to do something with a form thats similar to what has been discussed. I need the form to ask a question. for example: Does your school need ID cards? If they answer YES, then another field comes up asking a follow up question. Is the ID card vertical or horizontal. Is something like that possible with this program?
Hi. I have written the code for a text field if its value is null then hide, but it is not removing the blank space. Its still displaying blank space. Any suggestions?
The script would be the same Objectname.presence = "hidden". Dropdowns, dateFields, and all such LC objects have a "presense" attribute. Just change it to "hidden" and it disappears!
Hi Nathan, I am doing the same for a text field but it is under a subform. I need to hide the field if value is blank. it is not moving up the bottom fields even if I changed the subform to flowed. any suggestion how to do it? thanks
Hi Nathan, I just have question about this tutorial. After clicking button the " Sample text 2" box is hiding but white spaces still remain on my pdf. but in your posted video "Sample text 3" is came up. How? Did I missed any settings?
