@Uncutcartoons247 This is due to the crew trying to give the characters a late 1950's feel (similar to how Herman and Katnip look in the H&K Series Card), it may be huge noticeable here in the main cartoon, but it will get more noticeable in later entries
@ParamountCartoons A TECHNICAL NOTE: The First 1963 Famous Short to have just one animator credited is "Gramps to the Rescure" which was also a strange comeback appearance for Skit and Skat who appeared mostly in 1960.
This is one of the transitional period cartoons from the change from Famous Studios to Paramount Cartoon Studios. The later cartoons were more "stylized" and design oriented with more limited animation on a television level. While this cartoon credits Morey Reden as the lone Animator, it appears that assistants or trainees were assigned some scenes since the quality of those scenes does not match others showing much better skill.
@nostalgiamostalgia0319 But they were already starting to simplify Katnip's character design. He no longer has his "bowl" haircut, which seems to be a Dave Tendlar trademark. He also used it on Wolfie, Baby Huey, the early versions of Herman's cousins, and even the "toimites" in "Insect To Injury".
Excellent entry in the H&K series. While the look is somewhat stylized and low in textures, the clouds manage to look like clouds, and most of those snow and rock verticals look rather good, even great in places (e.g 3:00). I thought many of the gags worked better than most Paramount gags, and that was perhaps again due to their mountainy vertical dynamics. Katnip richly deserves his eventual demise. The song worked great. Those little generic mice are kind of creepy.

@Uncutcartoons247 "it may be huge noticeable here in the main cartoon" I meant to say "it may not be hugely noticeable", but i accidentally made a mistake and can't remove and correct it due to my laptop being stubborn.
