Rik Mayall is possibly the best comedic actor ever (and Adrian Edmondson too). They just make me laugh and laugh, I laughed as a small child in 1984, and I'm still laughing now. RIP Rik, and I hope you and Eddie are having fun somewhere. X

Loved the Young Ones back in the day when I watched this on MTV. Then again later on Comedy Central. Even the Dallas PBS station used to show it. When I first saw this episode on MTV with my brother & cousins, only I fully understood "The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe" reference. Good times. YOUNG ONES FOREVER! Rik Mayall forever young!!

I remember when I was about 9 or 10 my mum went to a Halloween party dressed as Viv. She dyed her hair orange, suck silver starts on her forehead, even bought a denim jacket she turned into a cut, studded, and wrote VERY METAL on. She looked just like him, it was awesome

I’m a narnia fan so I decided to check this out. Hillarious! Makes me want to see the series. This must’ve been a weird surprise to anyone watching. Unless this show commonly does absurd humor. The acting in this is great.

Samsun O.O David Rappaport. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head years ago. I saw him coming out of Toni and Guy's hair salon in Holloway Road, London in the eighties. Bizarrely enough I'd just bought a copy of The Time Bandits on VHS from the record store opposite. He signed it for me. How lucky was that.

How perfect was The Young Ones? Not only did the people involved go on to define British comedy to this day (RIP Rik) but this show boasted as its musical guests everything awesome about early 80s British rock (Madness, Motorhead, The Damned, etc.)

_Back in '77 here in the States, my 4th grade Teacher Ms. Seachrest read The LWaW to us. Even when I saw this episode back in '84-'85 late Saturday Nights on Mtv, the LWaW skit was exactly how I pictured it in the 4th grade, except I always pictured Ginarrbrik (un named in the book) as a typical Dark Elf/Dwarf._ _Edit: Google says he was of the Black Dwarf species._

I just picked up all four of the BBC Narnia movies (NOT the Hollywood crap) on DVD for $5.99! She did better on The Young Ones than she did in the movies themselves. She really chewed the hell out of the scenery in the movies!

When I first saw this on MTV, I was completely clueless about the reference to _The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe._ But if British comedy taught me anything, it taught me to just go with the flow (and look it up later once the Internet became a thing).
