Matsui was the man. He showed the baseball world once and for all why they called him "Godzilla" in Japan. He batted .615 (8-13), 3 HRs, and 8 RBIs; for the series. Complete and total savage!!
numbers that are simply hard to believe for a world series... if you were scanning a table of stats, you'd be forgiven for assuming that row was a typo...
How do those numbers compare in history ? I’m gonna have to do some research. Pretty sure he would have done even more damage without the no DH rule in NL ballparks
Man how is this the first time anyones ever uploaded this? I could never find his highlights from this series/game 6. Matsui was my dads favorite Yankee in a long time. Thank you!!!
😂 did you see those clutch hits in game 6 . He would stand on base like nothing happen 😂 No adrenaline or nothing. Like a professional hitman standing there . Love it
Matsui's first home game as a Yankee, he hits a grand slam. His last home game at Yankees' stadium, hits a homerun and drives in 4 runs and wins the WS MVP. Dude is clutch and a legend.
One of the Yankees' best signings ever. He was a consistent performer, durable, a great teammate, and a true professional. I will always be happy that he got a ring.
I told my dad before game 6 no worries because Matsui would be back in the starting lineup. Also that base hit on that 0-2 pitch off Pedro was ridiculous. He was going to rake no matter where the ball was in this series. Go go Godzilla.
