This is a hide and seek video, but instead of hiding in a spot, you hide as an object, hope you all enjoy the video. Go Subscribe to: / @fir / @craftyboss925 / @cjya / @smallant
I love how Crafty has gone from "Hi, I'm really bad at SMO and completely helpless in social situations" to "Escape master 9000 and a level of gaslighting for Smallant himself." Honestly the best character development arc
28:00 Random toad civilians: Hi, we have get new products for you to buy. Fir: I'll kill the one on the left, you get the right. I dunno why, but i was dying
@@moshimeshowu747 My friend tried that when he helped me test it and it actually worked for a bit. But only the players sync, most other objects like taxis aren't synced between games. So I caught him when it looked like he was half inside a taxi on my game lol
I love how Smallant said "What if he's a bench sitting on a bench", probably as a joke and then proceeded to not go to the bench that was so close by lol
A couple of riddles Smant could have used. "Pauline Pauline, the new donkers cry. The tolls around this town are all too high!" "With their help you can get lower or go higher And thanks to me things are a little lighter."
The unfortunate balance issue with this compared the GMod or TF2 prop hunt is they can just walk into every prop, no downside to walking into every item.
Maybe Crafty could add a thing where they have to roll or dive into the prop and if it's not someone and bonk they lose health (maybe for fairness they'll have the extra hearts thing), and if they lose all of their health they can only spectate the one's who's still seeking. Don't really know if this'll work well tbh but it could be a thing.
In a newer build I added a ground pound mechanic. So if a hider has been standing still for at least 3 seconds, you need to ground pound near them to tag them. If they start running, they can be tagged normally. This was based on the ideas they mentioned on stream when trying out the mod. I played with some friends and it worked pretty well. I also added prop collisions so you can stand on, climb on, bounce on, props when the hider is standing still
I think the difference in the map sizes (especially in terms of verticality), the greater mobility for escape, and the collision only tagging would make a health resource really limiting for the seekers. If anybody should get a health resource, it's big prop hiders, to outweigh the obvious disadvantages. Personally I'd like to see a rule change where the hiders can freely switch during the hiding section (means they don't have to spend a switch just for the other hiders to not know their prop), but they cannot switch at all during the round otherwise. Except, the seeker can use a hint to force them to switch, which means they can't just rely on a tiny prop to carry their spot and have to be ready to move. Considering sub areas are out, it gives another hint option besides top/bottom and left/right. It's not a 1 to 1 port of Prop Hunt that way, but it should take advantage of Odyssey's strengths and account for its weaknesses in comparison to the Source engine rather than trying to be the same anyway; it's the concept that's important.
Unfortunately, having a "if they bonk too many wrong items, they die and have to spectate" mechanic would mean that it would just go until the seeker kills themselves most times, so then they'd never get found. And part of the thing that I, at least, find really fun is the eventual "Wait, you were hiding there???" when they find somebody in a funky spot. I do really like Binston's solution of you have to ground pound near them if they've been holding still. I really hope there'll be more hide and seek videos with the newer version of prop hunt. It's just really great to watch, and makes all new places into potential hiding spots.
@@amystarr7654 Agreed. I'm not totally experienced nor have the knowledge on how the mechanics would play out in practice. Good to know that it would be janky and unfun.
Thank you so much for making these! I don't vibe with streams at all and don't want the full vods, so these edits, both fan and official, are the only real way I can watch any of this XD
Honestly, if the Pyramid had just taken place among the bricks, he would have been perfectly safe. It would have looked like a floor decoration Nintendo totally would have put in. Edit: 8:20 nevermind. serverside has z-fighting.
The fact it was so well edited like if it was a true video and I did watch it whitout noticing before the end that it was a fan that made it blew my mind Good Job Lumations
Then it would truly be hide and seek, as opposed to the usual hide and run. Which would definitely still be fun to watch, but significantly less chaotic.
