Thanks for the wonderful videos on Audio.. …as for amps, I am a die hard fan of Valve/Vacuum tube amplifiers … the clarity, crispness & imaging one can get is unmatched…solid state amps cannot compete with tubes… downside is the power consumption, tube life etc…

@@a4audiophile92 ലാപ്‌ടോപ്പിൽ ഉള്ളത്‌ internal DAC ആണ്. അതിനുപകരം external DAC വച്ചാൽ audio quality നന്നായി കൂടും. അടുത്തയാഴ്ച കമ്യൂട്ടർ ഓഡിയോ സെറ്റപ്പ് വീഡിയോ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്.

@@a4audiophile92 External DAC will be in a separate box . You will have to connect it over USB. എല്ലാ ലാപ്ടോപ്പിലും ഉള്ളത് i nternal DAC തന്നെയാണ്. ലാപ്ടോപ്പിനൊപ്പം external DAC കിട്ടില്ല. നമ്മൾ വേറെ വാങ്ങണം.

നിലവിൽ എന്റെ പക്കൽ Yamaha യുടെ RX-V483 എന്ന AVR ഉം അതിനുതകുന്ന 5.1 speaker set up ഉം ആണുള്ളത്. ഇതിൽ Movie watching ആസ്വാദ്യമെങ്കിലും, സംഗീത ശ്രവണത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ എനിക്ക് തൃപ്തി പോരാ. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു Music dedicated ആയിട്ടുള്ള Power Amplifier വേണമെന്നുണ്ട്. വലിയ ബജറ്റ് ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ brand new product വാങ്ങുക സാദ്ധ്യമല്ല. Sony TA-VE 700 എന്ന ഒരു Integrated Amplifier (used) ഒരെണ്ണം 10000 രൂപയ്ക്ക് ലഭിക്കാനുണ്ട്. അത് വാങ്ങുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരു വിദഗ്ദ്ധ അഭിപ്രായം താങ്കളുടെ വശത്ത് നിന്നും അറിയണമെന്നുണ്ട്. ഇത് നല്ലതല്ലെങ്കിൽ മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും മോഡലുകൾ suggest ചെയ്‌താൽ സന്തോഷം !!

All phones have a built in DAC that converts digital audio to analog. However this built in DAC is not as good as a high end stand alone DAC. So sound quality will be inferior.

Hi Kochu, I am using Denon avr x3600 with pioneer tower speakers spfs 52 and a central channel with sub . Does it ok to play it because I heard that the amp watts should be double the speaker. And when I play my tv and fm it lacks too much of sound .Is all the av receivers are like this ? My third question is as I don’t get enough power for my music I plan to buy a integrated amplifier with AirPlay blue tooth and sub out .can you please suggest me one ? Thanks..

UK uses 230V 50Hz. Same as India. So nonissue. You can buy UK or Europe models. Don’t buy US and Japanese models.

ഫോണിൽ നിന്ന് അനലോഗ് out put എടുത്താൽ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച quality കിട്ടില്ല. കാരണം ഫോണിലെ built in DAC ആണ് അപ്പോൾ നമ്മൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. ഫോണിലെbuilt in DAC ഇന് പരിമിതികൾ ഉണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് USB വഴി ഡിജിറ്റൽ ഓഡിയോ പുർത്തെടുക്കുന്നത്.

Yes. You can search on OLX etc. But the real gems can be found in ebay.de When I was in India I have bought it from Germany and a friend sent it to me. After that, I bought two more Sony ES amps.

Source is not that important when we are using an external DAC. It can be phone , computer or a network player. What matters is the quality of the DAC. and amp. Most receivers have a mediocre built in DAC. I have a Marantz reviver. I use it it only for movies. Because both the DAC and amp in it is not high enough quality.

Most receivers have inbuilt DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) in it, if your phone support FLAC format try playing it on your Denon receiver you will feel the difference. The quality of music really makes a difference, if you have a poor quality music source DAC is not going to make much difference.

Hai kochu, I Have a doubt, we used one Sony music system- MHC GPX 8, but the main unit got some complaints, we tried to repair it but not not happened. The speakers are good one actually. In this case we need another amplifer for using it. Pls advise a amplifer. Specification is TOTAL - 1600 Wats RMS Front RMS - 360 W x 2 Rear RMS - 180 W X 2 Sub - RMS - 260 W X 2

To achieve this kind of RMS power without spending too much money, you will need to go class D. You can even build your own amps with class boards or modules. But in reality you don’t Kleber that much power. Sony’s high power rating is at a higher THD. You will be very happy with a 80 W per channel class AB amp with good PSU.

Pretty good DAC. Especially for features(input / outputs). If you don’t need balanced out and prefer a bit more crispier sound with a bit higher dynamic range , you can also check out Pre box s2 digital or similar ESS based DACs.

Comparing pre box s2 digital and RME adi 2 dac fs . Which one you suggest if i could afford the price . Is RME worth the excess amount.

This RME now comes with ESS 9028 Q2M instead of an AKM chip. This will mean the fundamental sound now will be the ESS family sound. Pre box s2 digital is running ESS 9038 Q2M which is a generation ahead. But they are not fundamentally different. You will get balanced out with the RME. Do you need that? That said I can’t recommend spending around 1K euro just for balanced out as there are many other options. There is also a dedicated headphone section for smaller earphones which is low noise. Do you care about this ? Do you need the DSP options ? This said DAC is not just about the chip. I will recommend you audition the RME before making the decision. Personally I am not very pumped about this RME especially because of the many offerings with ESS flagship chips (not Q2M) .

LG വി സീരീസ് ഫോണുകളിൽ വളരെ നല്ല DAC ആണ് ഉള്ളതു. എന്നാൽ അത്‌ ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു flagship ചിപ്പ് അല്ല ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. അതുപോലെ ബാക്കി അനലോഗ് side implementation വളരെ ഇമ്പോര്ടൻറ് ആണ്. ഇതൊന്നും നമ്മുടെ ചെറിയ ഫോണിൽ സാധ്യമല്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആണ് നമ്മൾ സീരിയസ് ആകുമ്പോൾ ഒരു നല്ല stand-alone DAC വാങ്ങേണ്ടി വരുന്നത്. ഇവ തമ്മിൽ നല്ല വ്യത്യാസമുണ്ട്.

Both are brands owned by the same company. Marantz is perceived as a more premium brand. I also prefer Marantz over Denon. On B&W vs Klipsch, It depends on your taste and budget. B&W is very European in design. Their higher-end speakers cost more than a very good car! On the other hand, Klipsch is more affordable (value). They also make legendary speakers like La Scala.

I have a pre in my dac. So can put more volt into the integrated. In future I will go for Mono-blocks for power and pre. Integrated is cheaper and easy to find in used market.
