For me Paul, the ultimate accesory is set up. Only experience will assist you with set up so experiment & find out what you like sound wise. Remember everyone is different so what you prefer may not be to the liking of your best mate. But it is solely what you hear or don't that matters.
I have an isolation platform called the floor. My H390 amp sits on the floor. It allows any vibration the shortest path. The turntable is on an IKEA table only so I don't have to bend as far.
Cheap isolation idea for bookshelf speakers. I must mount my speakers on a shelf. Unhappy with the results of some expensive isolators, I now have them resting on a footprint size piece of foam core board. You know the type for mounting posters etc. About 1/4" thick and very light and rigid. It seems to do a good job of not transferring vibration. You can find it in white or black.
I already have my equipment on shelving. I intend to swap my current interconnect cables, get a turntable support and look at feet for the amp, cd player and turntable too. The Q Acoustic 3050 speakers I use had metal links due to the biwiring option. I read that biwiring does not always sound any different so I purchased two lots of short cable with spade connections and swapped them. It has made a difference. After that, I shall upgrade my amplifier and then allow my wallet to have a long holiday on the hifi front.
I started with QED79 Strand speaker cable in the late 70's-early 80's, the difference it made was huge for not a lot, though at the time it seemed like a lot, things have improved since but not prices unfortunately, but the cost is worth it, why pay a lot and spoil the hard saving by skimping on basic shelving, it needn't cost a lot if you learn a little about acoustics.
So you also fell for the Reddit garbage. Until I see it I don't believe it. Why not just use Tidal, especially since they've lowered their price for hires/MQA/Atmos music?
