God, sitting here at home waiting for the unknown, we need all these great singers back with us. 2020 is not turning out to be to good for many of God;s children anywhere in the entire world. Please save us from this disease.
Lord please SAVE US FROM THE LIARS! (Taking our HOPE AWAY. WITH THIS GINNED UP, DISGUISED PUSH FOR ONE WORLD GOVERNANCE, Using a LIE and Our GULLIBILITY TO DO IT!)
I've had this CD since it first came out. My niece will play this song for me at my funeral (I'm 65). I'm from North LA and bluegrass was part of my growing up. Our heritage and culture folks. Lord bless you all
You will never EVER see something like this again, I can guarantee that. This is the country equivalent of getting all the classical composers together to play in an orchestra.
sorry to hear sister. similar happpened to me but not that young, it's a rough fucking thing. sometimes things happen that we don't understand, why they happened, and sometiems that is just the way things are meant to be.
Well hello there. My name is Donald Mayer. I had a minor update done on my talking computer. Therefore, I'm sending you this reply to make sure we're up and running. Please let me take the time to tell you about some music by Josh Turner. You can listen to a song called I Serve A Savior. Another one is called Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Another one is called I saw The Light. Well, there's some music for you on this Wednesday. I really hope you enjoy it. I'm 62 years old and have been blind since birth. Please let me know if you want to know about more good music. Have a great day!
My Mom - she went Home last Sunday - LOVED this song AND particularly by this collection of some of the GREATEST Artists to ever Bless us mere mortals with their God-given talents 💕
@@tazcountry4828 …💕 condolences to you and thank you…Vince Gill is BEYOND DESCRIPTION, right??!! And THAT particular song ya reference - BEAUTIFUL 💕 Have you listened to Mr. Gill and Carrie Underwood’s Duet on How Great Thou Art? (couple years back at the cma’s - the film capture of the 2 of them? Goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch it 😎 and I go back OFTEN cuz that one is my ultimate favorite.) Again, thank you and God Bless 💕
I am a Johnny cash fan. I had never heard this song before. I recently lost my grandma and this song came on my playlist, starting balling. It was nice to have that pain relief.
Lost my mom a month ago. This song is amazing but it did bring a bunch of years as I'm still somewhat confused of her death.😢😢 I just don't think its fair
So very sorry Sir, may God comfort you, give you. peace, strength, and many blessings in the days ahead, we lost our extremely loyal German Shepherd 12 years old, the morning before Thanksgiving, I strongly feel God sends peace and comfort to us in these intense times in our lives, to tennesseeboy
@@rosa2dogs this is very sad about ur Germon Shepard. I love them dogs and in a way its more hard than actually losing a family member. What was its name? Sooooo sad
I also had this played @ my Mother’s Funeral. I love this Version… this makes me so Happy I wasn’t able to listen to it or function in my life for quite a long time. Worked on me for several years and all that pain and such. I am okay with what is, the Problem was it was different from my mind’s Picture. When I realized that with no judgment on myself. Every thing changed one morning when I got up it took three day to realize it was my Perception on everything had changed just simply the way I saw thing’s.So at peace like i have never been. I know now wanting them back whoever is really for me is a (selfish act).
My Aunt Ora just passed away at age 90. She was a devoted woman of God with generations behind her. She was the last living relative of her immediate family preceding by my aunt Aliene in MI. My Grandmother who went home to be with God in 2010. While my family will say goodbye to a woman who had a life well lived this will indeed be a celebration of Life
Wish they would’ve let Jimmy Martin have a verse, he’s one of the greatest singers in this video and you can’t even hear him. Still a great version of this song though.
I know We Are The World is the "All-Stars song" that gets all the attention but I don't think a country All-Stars song/video was ever done better than this.
@JohnSmith-zw8vp If you like country music,, not of today but when country music was country music years ago, you will love Children Go where I send thee. Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, The Statler Brothers, The Carter Family,. It's awesome
Totally agree Dustin. It's o.k. too to remove the word "probably". We can be greatful to the guys in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for putting this together. This should definitely be put into a time capsule to be opened 100 yrs from now......timeless !!!
I never sing in public, but, when my mom passed away as us her kids were gathered around her bedside along with all her grandchildren, I could only express my feelings and sang this. My voice was shaking and the tears were streaming down my face, but I felt the comfort the lyrics express.I hope that if you are facing the pain of a loss, this gives you some comfort too.
When my wife died from breast cancer I played this song at her funeral as we closed the casket for the last time. We all stood up and sang along with tears in our eyes truly knowing there is no pain in Heaven. Four years later when my Mom died from breast cancer I sang this song to myself as the Hearst drove away. The comfort this song has brought to me during these times could never be expressed in words. Event though my heart ached when i lost them both, this song reminded me they both were in a better place.
Kevin Carroll be strong in the faith, my brother, for the place we go to there will only tears of joy...no more pain, no more suffering...the toils of this Earthly walk will have given way to seeing our Savior on his throne...It is my faith that our Father will build a new place called Heaven and that the physics and diseases that were put upon this Earth by Satan will no longer exist....my mind cannot comprehend the bliss...take care and once again, be strong in the Faith
My mom's friend died overseas and we didnt know so it was a shock when we found out she passed to cancer. I went to church the Sunday after we found out and the choir sang Till the storm passes over and both my mom and I cried. Hearing this song now reminds me that heaven is better than this. Yesterday I went to a funeral of someone who died of cancer and she gave her life to the lord 6 days before she passed. Im a young person and I surprise people with my love for the lord but God knows what he is doing. The lord bless and keep you all and cause his face to shine upon you and give thee peace. Let peace be within thy walls and prosperity within thy gates from now and forevermore Amen.
I just finished watching the last episode of Ken Burns' "Country Music." I never realized I was such a big country music fan! The history of the genre grab me deep in my soul.
Gary Abraham I too just finished ken Burns’s country music documentary. Between this song and other songs represented...well I’ve cried till I have a headache! So moving and reminded me of whence I came
Ditto that. Grew up with Johnny Cash and Homer & Jethro albums, but I was into rock until rap took over. Then I was country until the backlash against the Dixie Chicks. Growing up in NC this is the music of my soul and my ancestors.
I also just finished this amazing series. I'm 66 & grew up listening to all of the greats! It's so sad to see almost all of the legends have left us. Even many in this great video are now gone. RIP to all that brought us so much joy over the years!❤
@Grant Crawford : I know, RIGHT? So very BEAUTIFUL, yet so very painful at the same time. Makes me think of my beloved mother, who just turned 91 on October 20, 2020. I don't know how I will ever be able to let her go, but I know that one day I must. This gospel song, here performed by all of these wonderful artists, makes my heart ache in agony, but equally fills me up with a hope that will not be diminished. Yes, brings on goosebumps...and tears.
@ Gord Merritt This album was released in 1989, so it was all the talent at the time. They did do a Volume 3 in 2002. Volume one was released in 1972 originally and was a 3 album (or 3 cassette tapes) set.
Enjoy this gathering of old & young that did. You may be surprised of newer generations seeking God in deeper ways other than "commercial and political "Christianity"" for sale to donors.
My mom and me once played and sang this song in church . She has been gone 15 yrs now and the pain from her loss has never got any better . I can't wait until we can sing it again in Heaven
A beautiful and true song. During my childhood I found solace in this song. Just at the age of 18 my Father was taken from my Mom and me. Just a few years ago my Mother was sick and alone at home. My wife and children lived just about 3 miles from her home. I saw her on a Saturday taking her some supper when she began to plead with me to stay for a while. The pleading got so bothersome, I got angry and told her I would be back in the morning with her breakfast. She was sitting on her couch in her den watching TV. I said my goodbye not kissing her on the cheek and walked down the hallway, slammed the front door, locked it and left. Sunday morning I found myself living out the words to this song. I found my Mother has passed away overnight. I stood alone at her front door as the hearse pulled up. I went outside a few minutes later from out the front door the funeral directors were bringing out my Mothers covered body on a stretcher and gently placed her in the back of the hearse. As the coach drove away I was drowning in tears. Take warning people there are many songs that speak to us. I wouldn't wish anyone in my shoes. I am so sorry Mother.😭
If your Mom was Christian, she knew the power of forgiveness. Take that lesson, and forgive yourself. A lifetime of loving her child won't be taken by a moments irritation. God bless and keep you. ❤ You will see her again someday.
That is a tremendous burden to carry. I have a similar one. My burden was lessened by a dream I had long after my brother had passed. If you are a believer, believe this. Mom is not mad, and she sure is not sad where she is...but she would be both of those things if she knew you were suffering because of her. She's free. You need to be. A few things happened the day my brother died to make me feel less heartbroken than I was. But the thing I remember most is driving aimlessly in my car, not paying attention to anything but grief, and a song came on where I immediately snapped out of my despair because the band was immediately recognizable CCR. My brother and I have an affinity for the band, especially the song Lodi. Since many of the songs from credence are way overplayed on the radio, what struck me was that I didn't recognize the song and I had never heard it before... As long as I see the light. Check it out. Then Ripple by the grateful dead came on on and I knew I didn't have to worry about my brother. He wasn't worried. Nor should you be. God Bless. Johnny Cash was my brother's favorite. This song with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is phenomenal. Bytheway, my brother's favorite song was When I'm Gone by Anna Kendrick. It was a long time before I could listen to that one. Check it out. Let It Go! (Def Leppard) Peace
Got diagnosed with rare form of liver cancer in March 2020 and they give me 11 months to live. Through prayers and God's blessings my chemo treatments are working. I love this version and listen to it often. All Glory to GOD.
Well, "We Are The World" would be the modern version of this! This is an old-time gospel that even predates me, and I have been around a very long time!✌️ Peace and Gods blessings be upon you and yours!🙏
What a lot of people don't know is that video there took many many months to produce I was on the staff I know what these guys went through I love them I love bringing Johnny and and all the other singers but that was from the heart what you all don't understand is this is the music from the heart they didn't have to do that but we set down in a hotel room one night and they said this is what we want to do and we made it happen thank you all we love you keep supporting your country music singers
I needed this so bad. I lost my amazing, loving mom to cancer this past Sunday. She would play this and sing it around the house when I was younger. I love this edit and it puts some peace and comfort knowing she's in heaven looking over me and my family. I love and miss you mom...if only heaven was closer. Hug Gramma and grampa and tell them I love and miss them. I'll see you all one day.
So sorry! I lost my g-pa 10 months ago to cancer, and my uncle 7 months ago. Both great men! Both served in the Army. Korea, and Vietnam. My uncle was exposed to agent orange. I think about them everyday!! God bless you all!!!
@@bfry38 be of good cheer! We have the opportunity to meet them in a place where time can’t restrict us, where there is ONLY happiness and gladness. maybe I’ll get to meet em too😉😆❗️❗️
My wife died yesterday and I find comfort in listening to this song. I hope she is in Heaven looking down on me. She wished that someday we will meet again.
@@ellelane3213 Same here. We had the funeral. I know a man isn't supposed to cry, but I couldn't hold back the tears. She was my best friend and now I am alone.
Every Time I listen to this version of the circle it brings tears to my eyes. The old time country star power in this video makes feel close to the Lord and I'm not a religious person.
This song was played at my daddy’s funeral. The man who sang and played the guitar played it just like this cause daddy always loved good picking and singing. I miss you daddy but I will see you again someday
Bobby, I want you to know I was moved by your reply. You see, both of my parents are still living. That is something I absolutely must remember. I wonder if you've ever heard Randy Travis sing this song. You can find it on youtube. Let me send one more song your way. Bobby, please listen to Michael Card sing New Jerusalem. I hope you will enjoy this song.
I lost my mother the day after Christmas in 2020. It was completely unexpected and very hard on me and my younger sisters as we were only 22, 20 and 19 years old. She was a beloved special education teacher here in our home state of West Virginia. She will always be loved and missed everyday. After her passing I really started to question what happens after you die and hoped that she was in a place with no pain and she only feels love and joy. This song reminds me every time I hear it that she is home with God and she is looking down on us from a far with no pain, no suffering and only feeling love.
@@c.b.-11 I get great comfort and assurance to know what Bible said about death . “ Because I live , you shall live also .” ( John 11:25 ) His Word is enough for me to know we are spiritual beings having a human experience. One of my favorite verses in Bible is that ,” Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead die no more ; death has no more dominion over him .” ( Romans 6:9 ) May God keep you and watches over you all the days of your life and throughout eternity.
Thank you Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for creating the amazing treasure for future generations to have glimpse of some of the greatest country stars ever, many who are no longer with us.
My mama just passed away last night and I am hurting. My heart rejoices for her because she can walk and talk now. I know she is with our heavenly father. But boy it's hard letting go.
Hello, my name is Donald Mayer. I almost feel bad sending you this at this time. I'm not going to tell you about music or The Bible as I often do. Listen, you may send me a reply if you want to. You may also call 1-610-261-9503 if you want to talk to me. April, I am so sorry for you at this most difficult time.
@@bpaddling1 Pam, hello from Coplay, Pennsylvania. My name is Donald Mayer. I just read your comment with my talking computer. I will be 63 in October. I have been blind since birth. I want you to know my wife passed away in December of 2016. Pam, we were married 28 years. Let me say I am heartbroken for you. I want to tell you something. Pam, with every day that passes, you are one day closer to being reunited with your Mommy in Heaven. I want to tell you about a special song by Michael Card. It is called New Jerusalem. This song is based on Revelation chapters 21 and 22. You know in Heaven there will be no more death, pain, sickness, sorrow or sin. Pam, I think this is something to look forward to with excitement. Sometimes I wonder how I ever type these replies. Pam, please remember the shortest verse in The Bible is John chapter 11 verse 35. Jesus wept.
Heard this as a child in church and then heard it again on the Ken Burns' documentary on Country Music. I have put it on the list of songs to be sung at my funeral/memorial service. It says a lot. And "Go Rest High on the Mountain" by Vince Gill. And a couple of selections from the Titanic Requiem CD by Robin Gibb. Listen to it before you make judgments. Things that touch my heart.
With all that is going on, I have no doubt the Lord is telling us that his son Jesus Christ is making his return to take us to the promised land. Now is the time for us to pray for the lost souls so they may too be saved. God bless you all.
Hello American people, I'm a young italian guy. And I do love bluegrass music. This music is the only cultural heritage that every country in the world should (some does) envy to the United States of America: a place where all the countries lives but one country is. Seeing how things are going there, it kills my heart. When we will rebuild this polluted, lonesome, violent world, we should restart from music. This is a good start. Save bluegrass, it's in great danger of being forgotten. May God and all the saints and angels protect your beautiful hearts.
I'm in a bar band and we end every single show with this song and I have goosebumps when I'm playing guitar and all of the sudden I am hearing nothing but the audience singing along with me and over powering the entire band. It's just like church on Sunday.
So many departed legends in this video. Rest in peace, Johnny Cash, Roy Acuff, Earl and Randy Scruggs, Levon Helm, the Carter family, Jimmy Martin, Chet Atkins, and anyone else I forgot.
