Steve, thanks for the great review of the Deva. Just ordered it per your recommendation. Also bought the Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 from your suggestion and love it! It's really got the "wow" factor! Your videos are so refreshing. Your passion and joy for music is what always shines through your videos first and foremost. Why else would we all even care about audiophile equipment if not to enable us to fully enjoy the MUSIC! Right? I really appreciate that you take us budget minded "philes" into account too! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of both gear and some of your favorite recordings. It's always a great "hang" with you watching your videos.

Glad to hear you like these - I'm a Hifiman fan so it's nice to see them getting good responses for the their products. Wanted to say - in a previous video you recommended the Sony STR DN1080 as a reference surround amp. I was looking for an amp upgrade to go with my new Dali Oberons and, obviously, your words carry a lot of weight. The Sony also kept cropping up in comparisons with other, similarly priced amps. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for the excellent guidance. I am delighted with it and feel I got the most musically capable surround amp in my budget (and possibly beyond). LOVE the sound of it. Great recommendation. So yes, thank you very much, you helped me out a lot!

Great review! I bought the Devas (wired version) and I connected it with my hip dac and the sound was amazing!

Just have to say after watching this video, I purchased the Devas, and as usual Steve hit it on the head. They are so good using a cable its almost crazy what you get for 300 bucks. The blutooth is decent but using the Blue Draganfly usually when on the go. The overall sounds of subtle keyboard rifts are just amazing. Clarity and detail of each instrument is well defind and very spacious.

Listening to this video on my Deva. Using it mostly using BT, every day. Best investment ever. Does need 24-48 hours to break in and does need some power when used wired. Great comfort and sound. Love planars, back to my esl57 now. Thnx for a great review

They already come with LDAC, which is better than ApTX-HD. To my surprise the amp dac dongle sounds amazing!! Better than my tube amp. I couldn't believe it.

I love how soothing Steve's voice is, and when I actually want to get some information, I can just put him on 2× speed and we're good to go :)

I need to start compiling a list of music Steve talks about. So many bands and solo artists I've never heard mentioned outside of his videos but I'm always busy cleaning the house or working when I'm listening to his videos

Upgraded to the Deva pro. It's great. Worth a new video. Still use it 90% with Bluetooth, in fact right now. The dongle is upgraded too. It now is a combination of bt receiver headphone amp and an r2r ladder dac. It also works with the USB cable to your PC, but I have never used it like that.

Bought these 2 weeks ago or so. Falling in love with these cans! I think these and the Sundara's should be required purchases for EVERY audiophile and audiophiliac fan as well. They are both probably the best cans on earth for around $300-350 dollar range. I can't think of anything NEAR this price point that can outdo them overall although I admit that if we are getting into the $650 dollar range AND if the person prefers a smoother and somewhat warmer and or even more analytical phone then we can offer Sennheiser 660S and something in the range of Audio Technica's ATH-AD2000X but even then I feel these are faster and still overall just a bit more transparent. Nice review Steve. I’m looking forward to receiving my Drop + THX Panda headphones later this month, which are at a similar price point and can be used wired as well.

These use LDAC which is 990kbs, while flac 1400 kbs. Thats good enough for me. You can also run them with a usb c cable plugged in from your phone or computer. Theyre great if you go from computer to phone a lot.

So this evening I watched an interesting little video Paul McGowan of PS Audio put out today on why some speakers sound great and others don’t and why it depends a great deal on the designer’s own preferences to a much greater degree than other components in the audiophile chain. My knee jerk comment went like this: “Maybe instead of all the rubbish speaker reviewers talk about “transparency” and “colour” could we not talk about flavour? Like coffee or wine - “full bodied” (PS Audio), lean (B&W), fast and crisp (Linn), bloated (name withheld for their protection). Wouldn’t that be much more useful, especially in these pox ridden stay-at-home-stay-safe days?” I am copying this to you send because I love your reviews and am a huge fan, and I hope that in some small way this thought will add to your palate.

Since you compared them to the non Bluetooth Sennheiser I wish you also compared them to the Hifiman HE 400i headphones .

I have $40 bluetooth headphones with noise cancellation that are pretty good. Can also plug in.

Devas has trrs input. So, Radsone ES100 has balanced trrs output. That could be a very nice match.

I don't see any wires going through the headband. How does the other earcup receive audio signal?

Do you consider review Bowers & Wilkins PX7? I wonder what it sounds like if it plays music with it's internal DAC via USB C. It can play lossless files this way.

I am not sure how or why, but I have find Sandinista recording to be muffled, or subdued, in ways I am disappointed in and wonder what you think. Feels like it was recorded just as digital production was standard and suffers from a poor analog conversion. I simply can’t crank it up the same way their other albums. Nice tip on headphones.

Isn't it correct that if you listened wirelessly to a source that doesn't support APTX HD then you were listening to the usual old lousy bluetooth SBC or AAC. So you didn't really have an opportunity to listen to APTX HD.

Whilst I don’t have these headphones, I have experienced the same with my old Sennheiser’s, Bluetooth (aptX) sounds good but nothing compared to cable.

I still love my Hifiman Sundara's. I'm not into Bluetooth. Like mine "wired".

Hey Steve, following a TBI + abnormalities, the consequences are chronic migraines. For my birthday a few years ago I got good relief from 🎶 of my choice but the key is 120 dB which is high but when you’re seriously trying to change brainwave activity you need to push it. What would be required other than possible acquisition of these headphones 🎧 my hifi rigg might push these boundaries but the neighbours would become a little annoyed 🧠 it’s a see-saw effect, sometimes silence is good too 🇦🇺✌🏽

Bluetooth headphones need to be closed. For what I use Bluetooth headphones for a $70 pair sound fine, I'm not using Bluetooth for serious listening so I'd have no use for an expensive pair, especially open backed. Just don't see a use for these
