so quick fyi for the past 6 years, Rakunan (in black) has been going to the Spring High Tournament, and in fact won in 2019. This is the prefectural finals in to decide which school will represent the Kyoto prefecture. #1 Ran Takahashi from Higashiyama (in red and blue) has been in his school's starting lineup since his 1st year. This is his third year, where his school finally went to nationals for the first time in 6 years where the went on to win nationals as well. He is since been receuited in Japan's National Team along with Otsuka Tatsunori, Rakunan's ace (best player) in 2019.
Oh my god those libero saves though--I'm always so amazed by Japanese volleyball defense; they're so flexible, they read so early, and can adjust so easily.
he didn,t get it up, if you go frame by frame you can see the ball hit the ground, but you can very easily tell by the trajectory and the spin of the ball after the "pancake" the ball can only have those movements if it hit the ground and was pushed by the hand, not hitting the hand
I know right....I checked out high school volleyball in foreign countries and..honestly it was boring...nobody served a jump serve...but this is exactly like haikyuu
@@user-pz5ck9vc7h its amazing isn't it. To be honest...the real life volleyball looks even faster and harder than haikyuu. I mean look at those jump servers...just absolutely stunning
@@kay3llegazpi230 guess..your school is an exception....I don't even want to start abt my school...it doesn't have a girls volleyball team...can u believe it....useless school.....I hope at least u enjoyed your high school volleyball life
The Anime ist the only reason i watched this Match. I played handball quite some time, but this is sick! All this well Timed moves and the Speed! Incredible!
@@Sa-fd7ih the current ace of Japan is Nishida I think as he is the only purely offensive based player on the Japanese team like ushijima from haikyu. But having nishida, takahashi and ishikawa Japanese prospects are looking good.
Well seeing the rallies at the end of the set I would say that Higashiyama had the better nerves and determination. But their Ace (player-no. 1) has nailed anything he got. And yes their setter is also really talented.
that camera angle is very nice, it slow down the action and make you able to follow every player movement. Every match should used this one instead of that flying camera that goes left and right stupidly fast at each serve and spike
what's really nice is that higashiyama (the team that won) made its first ever nationals appearance thanks to this victory in 6 years (the team rakunan kept going to nationals), and then proceeded to win that nationals tournament so yeah, the coaches were elated to say the least
It's hard to believe this is High School Volleyball, but then again, Volleyball is an actual serious sport in Japan for men. In other countries, like the US, it's not very popular. Both team's serve receieve is crazy good too
these two teams make the finals for qualifying for nationals every year- they're powerhouses- also, the uniforms are similar, but have explicit differences- the closer team has a hint of red on the left shoulder whereas the far team has it on the right shoulder. you can also tell the difference with the libero's uniform
