Join us as we discuss putting out K3s Cluster into High Availability mode. We will discuss what HA means for Kubernetes as a whole, and how to do it with K3s.
Setting up K3s in HA is more than just a setting in the installation script. You will need to add a load balancer in front of the Kubernetes API server. Otherwise, if the one controller node is unavailable, you won't be able to access your cluster.

What can I use as a load balancer if I set up k3s on a cloud provider like AWS? Metallb is not supported on AWS and most of the cloud. I know I can probably manually set up an AWS ALB and forward it to NodePorts, but is there any solution like metallb while running k3s on a cloud (self-hosted)?

That's a great question! Depending on your setup, you may have a few different options. I recommend checking the landscape to see if there is a tool that supports what you are looking for landscape.cncf.io/card-mode?category=service-proxy&grouping=category.
