I’m 6’. I don’t find the seat height an issue, can get both feet down very easily. If I was shorter, it definitely would be interesting doing those crossings. Thanks for watching another trip mate.

Yes I did, a 2L bottle just incase. Fuelled up in Mansfield and Licola, a total of 284km off road. I have the front auxiliary tank install which is getting me around 300km off road.

@DK ADV did you have to wait long for your new one to arrive? I've just put a deposit on one...hopefully in 1-2 months

@@scottyyy3608 I managed to track one down in country vic in December. Soon as I found one I put a deposit on it straight away. That's awesome you put a deposit on one. They are awesome machines mate!! hope it arrives soon.

Hi Richard, thanks for your comment mate. I did a tone of research to find the right bike for me. The 701 is truly awesome and I am so happy with it. Might play around with the rear shock to tighten it up. Getting a bit of sag with me and my gear on it. How do you find the rear with gear on?

@@DKADV Hi Dan, so far I only played around with rebound damping on the rear shock absorber and added 4 clicks for full payload. I did the same on the front forks. I did this just before my last trip in the High Country with a fully packed Reckless 80 for 4 nights of camping. That definitely improved the experience. Next, I will measure static and riding sags and see if they need adjustments. To be honest, I should have checked the sags first, but ran out of time.

Hey Dan I swapped out front and rear springs with heavier springs for my weight. I also added xtrig so I can dial sag in super quickly for day rides vs fully loaded camping trips. One other tip. If you haven’t purchased it, get the special spark plug tool otherwise you are screwed if you drown it. I also bought the eve vanasche side stand dongle. I leave dongle and spark plug spanned always in that little toolbox under left plastic panel so it’s always on my bike.

Looks like I’m doing some more shopping! Where did you get the kit for the front and rear? I think I’ll do the same and put the xtrig on. Did you do the spring change over yourself? Thanks heaps for the advice.

@@DKADV Hey Dan, I got the bike shop to do the suspension upgrade. I've never upgraded springs and I think that will be above my paygrade. They also fitted the xtrig while they were doing the spring upgrade. Hey one thing that might interest you, I just heard from Rex today about his fuel controller. There seemed to be an issue with them on the MY21 models, they seemed to run a bit too rich and burn through too much fuel, but Rex just told me that he has a new model that has been optimised to the MY21 690s and 701s, so I'm going to swap my dongle and get one of the new ones.
