Morning mate, re the ReMap, have been happy with it and did you notice any increase in fuel usage? I'm guessing it provides some more lowdown torque David
That Victorian High Country delivers! I never understand why people do that with cars. Who knew you'd come across Cattle in the middle of no where. Great entertaining Motorcycle Adventure, thanks for your efforts for us Viewers. 👏👏👏
Son and I did Mt Sunday last year. North to South on KTM300 and XR400. Certainly enduro bike only and we earned out stripes that day, the ascent at the southern end will test most of us! Easier going north if one wants to take the challenge. Surprisingly remote, plan well if on enduro bikes with limited fuel range.
Mate, I really enjoy the videos you put together and appreciate the effort you go to in production. The ECU upgrade, I'll give them a call today, what was the cost? lastly, I really appreciate that you list the tracks; I'm going to get out and do some snow camping this winter with the ole 701. Just replaced my old Tripltek with the newer version so starting to load it up now with some of the tracks youve traveled.
The Yuri ECU remap costs $685, which includes shipping to the shop and back to you. Awesome customer service. You won't regret the investment. I thought I was the only nutter who enjoyed snow camping off the bike. Respect mate. Feel free to message me on Instagram, and we can chat about some of my snow camping spots.
My problem with the lightweight gear is that to save 2lbs on a tent you go from a $60 tent to a $400 tent. This is ridiculous.. Same goes for a decent sleeping bag. I have a Kelty Cosmic 20 long wide bag that was $70 going to an ultra light quilt would be $400-500. To save 1.5 lbs…
Just found your channel this weekend subscribed instantly as you have great content on the Husky and just found your road touring which I do on my KTM 1290GT 🏍️. Coming from Queensland we definitely head for the Oxley at least once a year. Just have to plan a bit more to enjoy your backyard the Vic High Country 🎉
Good choice on the Yuri remap. I’m local to him and mine was the first Euro 5 on his dyno. He’s looked after me with some updates since as others have come through. Happy customer here
Hey DK, Mt Terrible was my first foray into the High Country. You make great Adventure Bike videos but I miss your excellent camp cooking!! Looking forward to part 2 of this trip.
Hey Dan I was wondering if you can get internet with that Cycplus gadget?? Cheers John PS thanks for showing us that inflator I am definitely going to grab one, what an awesome unit I can get rid on my massive pump I take with me now!
Great stuff. Thanks for the effort in filming this. I just bought my first bike in 22 years (Husky 701) and this is exactly what I want to be doing once I build confidence.
"I don't mind a bit of wind"! Sick and tired of idiots complaining about 'buffeting' on dual sport, adventure bikes! If you don't like wind, buy a Gold Wing or Land Cruiser. Remember folks, public opinion killed the XR650R.
Nice vid. Being a local I ride Wombat most weekends. Just recent after the rains I went down Distillery Track from Burnt Mill Road end. Was good for a couple of kays before this deep rutty descend that was all yellow clay and slippery as @#$%. Went down it partially before chickening out and goind back up (not easy). I'll save it for drier months I think.
Great trip, fellas. We’ve just come back from Pinnibar and Blue Rag. Pinnibar wins hands down. Pinnibar Track is pretty good, except for one section. You would have aced it though. Looking forward to future eps.
Great video! It's a beautiful place to ride. Camp site looked good but definitely wouldn't want to be there is bad weather. I've been looking forward to this series, I don't watch much youtube while I'm editing my own videos.
I very much enjoyed your videos on this motorcycle adventure. My skills are not at that level, at my age, but to see it in your postings makes me appreciate what you do. Some fantastic country side, and excellent camping spots. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us Viewers. Great job! 👏
Brilliant Dan, I so much enjoy your videos. I've ridden some of those track but with our good work I add to the inventory of tracks than that need doing. Interestingly I was a Wheelers hut not long ago. Cheers John
No statement was made about the two bikes vs each other, mate. I spoke about going lighter if I was going to buy a new bike today. The 501 would be a prime contender due to its massive weight savings, but its road performance on long trips, not so much. I need a bike to punch out road Ks on, and the 701 ticks all my boxes on and off road.
