Haha yes, it's pretty much the case. Since the December patch they've slowed it by making Morathi far more aggressive and she will take half of Ulthuan, but Tyrion typically confeds the other half and fends her back, then finally gets the upper hand when Chaos arrive in the north and backdoor Malakith into oblivion. I have more hrs watchin YT vids on how to learn to play than the campaign. Man this was the most helpful thing I've seen! Actually how to start like a badass. Thank you! Time to restart a new game and try again. Id totally be interested in some general guidelines on what to do if I can actually make it this far on normal for a strong win. Cheers

@@ElvenPlotArmour Nice, thanks for the suggestion. I realized I'm trying vortex so things are a little different. Tried twice last night to confederate caledor by turn 3 even using 5x gifts not 3x with no luck. Either gift potential is less on vortex or that guy just hates me because of some back story. See if youre able to confederate that guy by turn five, I wanna know if it's possible haha. Alot of your other moves helped a ton and I'm sitting the best I ever have at turn 6. Thanks again
@@JM-te2jn Yeah mortal empires is definitely different but in either campaign the starting relations are RNG so if that first confed was more difficult, chances are there will be another that's easier in the same run. Caledor always seems to be slightly more difficult than most to confed, once you've got him (assuming you're Tyrion) it should be all downhill from there mate!
hello i have 200 hrs in this and i still dont know what im doing this is also my fisr total war i still strugle whit cav but seeing how you managed to get your objectives quite fast is insane, altough im not playing in the hardest dificulty like you are doing ,still there is still alot of good info i dont know if you have a lizardmen guide too since HE an lizarmen are my fav in this game

Thanks for another great guide! apparently CA made Eltharion twice as hard to confederate or something, have him on 133 influence and the strength rank is basically 50/50 on the slider and still he wont confed...
It'll come good. Just another turn or so and it might swing round, once he's lost some troops or has another threat on the other side. Just check it each turn - it's based on science but it can be hard to control all the variables!

As for this content, well i only prioritize to confederate Alarielle due to her global bonus skills. Confederating legendary lords also mean inherite their responsbillities. Example if i confederate Tyrion as Yvresse i also must open 2nd war front against Druchii. Tis troublesome since supply lines are expensive at higher diffculties.
Alarielle is an incredible governor, and as you pointed out, you inherit her responsibility which hopefully only includes guarding a giant gate :) Tyrion is always a challenging one and quite honestly there's many a time you just confederate him because you can and put yourself through 10 turns of pain because you couldn't say "No!" haha. Having Alarielle skipping between provinces to boost influence and PO usually makes the difference, but I agree, blindly confederating I'm sure has ruined many a campaign!

Did I understand correctly that after the confederation with the legendary lord, we can't get his special buildings and quests (for example, no cool dragons for Imric)?
That's correct. There is the faction which has it's own rules/abilities, and a lord with their own skills/traits, both of which can influence the campaign. It's actually a good thing as it makes playing as the same race very different each time. The most powerful HE faction is Eltharion and the weakest is Imrik, for reference.
Are confederations easier on Legendary difficulty or something? I don't know how you're getting green acceptance when I have red, even with higher BoP and relations... Does economy play a factor in BoP?
Regarding economy, it doesn't play a factor per se, but the myth the AI gets free money is exactly that. If they are broke they won't build armies to inflate their BoP. If they are rich they will build armies that will boost it as well as help them win engagements which exacerbates this. Once their relations are over 150 STOP gifting - it's actually hurting you at this point. It's rare but sometimes Imrik does well at the start - he'll lose a fight or get surrounded. Then he'll cave :)
Cheers mate. Check out my other HE Guides, all of them end in confederating Tyrion before turn 20 reliably. Imrik's comes out this week and he's the only one I don't recommend trying to get the early confed with. I've done the maths and while it can be done, it's inconsistent as Tyrion has HUGE unseen buffer against confederating with the Knights. Every other HE lord is reliably able to do it, but Imrik's strongest play (mathematically) is to conquer the south and confederating Tyrion and complete Ulthuan once he's established.
