Yes! I think my oldest right now is like 8 years and I am working on panning the oldest stuff but I could imagine getting rid of something after just a few years!

If I like a palette, it still works and it's not causing any issues... I don't care how old it is. I think if you store your palettes in a good location and sanitize them occasionally, there's no reason to throw them away.

I thought the same thing! I still have some UD palettes that are older than most of her collection. I’m wondering how she’s storing her collect. Maybe the way she’s storing the palettes is why the formula is changing so quickly on them for her.

I never declutter palettes no matter how old they are until they really go bad (texture is changed or something). Only cream products are disqualified due to age, not powders!

@@PivdennaChaika I have the same policy. My oldest palette I bought in late 2016. Still going strong! I have so much makeup, I may use a powder product only a handful of times in a year. If I tossed stuff at the two- to three-year mark simply because of age, I'd be decluttering barely touched makeup that I still love. And I just don't have the stomach for that, lol. (Like you said, though, liquids and creams are a different story.) XO

Last summer I used two Dior palettes that are about 10 years old! They performed beautifully, great pay-off and longevity, I could not detect any deterioration whatsoever.

Same, I think some of my oldest pallets were 10yrs old before they started to not Perform right. But I have also moved all my makeup to the basement and it's nice and cold and dark in my makeup/closet.

I don't think eyeshadows expire in just 2 years. I have some much older and they still perform well.

Your 2 tiny drawers of palettes make me think of my own collection, and that I am completely out of control. Having that much around me doesn't make me crazy though - I'm happy every morning digging around to find which palette I want to bring out for the day.

When I use my ND Bronze palette, I use my ND mini nude with it. I feel like the Bronze palette could use some lighter shades. The two palettes couple nicely together.

Ohhh, I am on my second green/ brown palette. It is my favorite ND palette along with the gold. Great declutter, if it doesn’t get you excited to get up in the morning and use it then pass it along. I find 20 palettes is where I am comfortable and in order to buy one I must declutter one. Sometimes I don’t see anythingI love for a couple of months and some months I buy 5-6. Just depends but I have to like it more than what I have .

I love decluttering videos and this did not disappoint :) So many lovely palettes, but we have to keep our collections somewhat edited because as you said, we feel like we're drowning in makeup lol. I’ve been slowly decluttering old palettes since Christmas (4-6 years old...might have owned a couple older than that which I wasn’t using) because I’ve purchased several Pat McGrath and Natasha recently and I want to focus on using those. I finally let go of my old Too Faced Peach and Gingerbread after watching your video! They had their moment, but it’s been over for a long time 😆

Hey Jena, I love the Stars in your Eyes palette from Charlotte Tilbury, but I missed out on that one. I agree that the pinks in that palette are similar to her other palettes. Omg, i have been waiting an eternity for Sephora to restock the glam palette, I missed out on that one as well 🤦🏻‍♀️. Do you have any updates on the restock?

This was hard to watch 😅 but I have found my self evaluating my eyeshadow collection and I agree if it doesn’t bring you joy “just let it goooo”... it’s better to hand it off to someone who will give it love then let it sit there and expire. 👍🏼 you go girl!

I cannot for the life of me open my em cosmetics palette! Luckily I found a great way that doesn’t damage nails or the palette itself: grab a mini tweezer and use the back to function as your nails when opening it. Hope this works! ☺️💕

My eyeshadow palette collection doesn’t get as much love as it deserves especially at the moment working from home. My oldest palette is the original naked which is 10 years old and it still works as good!

It's really a great workhorse. I like it so much better than Bronze or Glam, both of which I just didn't get along with.
