Love the trailers they had back then with a narrator and giving the story without completely giving it away

God, my mother showed me this movie half a lifetime ago and it became such a big part of my teen years, and then my college years, and now it's still getting me through hard times.

Just glad someone documented that old independent record store feel on a Hollywood movie to be remembered forevermore.

I miss these kinda movies, trailers, everything...

High fidelity is one of best romantic comedies of 2000s. There is any another romantic comedy who has such good cast, script and so many fourth wall breaking.

Wow I never knew the Hulu High Fidelity was basically a remake… and it’s cool that Lisa Bonet was in the original 🫡

Although this movie isn’t quite as good as Nick Hornby’s novel, I think it’s still pretty impressive. I like that it is quite raw and realistic by Hollywood standards & not glossy.

This film was a moderate success (it almost doubled it's budget) and that is mostly because the book has a cult following. This is a classic example of marketing done all wrong. If I had made this trailer I'd have eliminated the completely misleading narrator. I would have included Rob's "Desert Island Top Five Most Memorable Breakups" monologue. And I would have mentioned that it is based on a bestselling novel that is almost a cultural landmark for Gen-X and Early Millennials. [Edit: somehow I missed that it mentioned that it's based on the novel.]

Saw this movie when it first came out, loved it at once. One of the very rare romantic comedies told from the guy's viewpoint. Watched it last night with my girlfriend (she'd never seen it before) and I loved watching her enjoy catching a glimpse of a guy's thought process. 🤪

Strange. This trailer makes it seem as though High Fidelity was a breezy, upbeat romp of a movie. It did have some fun moments, but Rob Gordon is an extraordinarily miserable character. You wouldn't know it watching this trailer.

Another picture where the lead character makes 80% of the movie's dialogue with himself. Cusack is often amusing but also pathetic. Jack Black is insufferably annoying. 😖
