What's your settings for green day? I was debating getting the dookie pedal but this one is more affordable

@@TheSupart91 I set it with bias at noon, bass at 10:00, middle at 2:00 and treble at noon. Gain at about 9 or 10:00

Jonathan Hands that vintage OD is fantastic! Took a chance on it because it was so cheap and it was well worth it. Sounds awesome and has become my go to overdrive. 🤘🏻

It's a Friedman be od with a bias knob. It rips. I go gate, TS gain all the way down, UZI. Such a brutal modern metal tone. It chugs.

You've got the idea with fuzz pedals, although you're incorrect I'm saying it lowers the voltage stays the same. In a fuzz pedal the bias control adjusts the voltage going to the base of the transistors, but the voltage at everything else stays the same. It does this by adjusting the current going into the emitter of a transistor. In this pedal it's doing something a bit different. I would have to go over the schematic again but from what I remember it was adjusting a few things: 1: The gain of an op amp 2: The high pass frequency cutoff 3: The low pass frequency cutoff So turning the knob to the left gives the pedal less gain at this stage(although the overall gain stays more or less the same as a result of how diode clipping works- this manifests as a more compressed sound when the pedal is turned left), it lets more bass through, and it lets less highs through. Turning it to the right obviously does the opposite of these things. The voltage to the pedal stays the same regardless of the position. If we were to reduce the voltage to the pedal, we'd hear less distortion at first and as we lowered it further the signal would go back to distortion(although in a very unpleasant way) until eventually just cutting out entirely. Gating doesn't really happen with op amps, at least not when the op amps are used the way that they are in this pedal.

Joyo has never failed in price, build, and tone. I have the D Seed and it's honestly some of the best delays i have heard. Especially for $45

I got the Joyo Uzi Distortion pedal. Was very excited to try it. I was disappointed because it does not have the rich saturated chunk that i wanted for melodic death metal or technical / brutal death metal. However, for what it is, it's not a bad distortion pedal. It's great for rock, punk, hardcore, old school sabbath heavy metal, psychedelic rock and other genres that require less gain, but lacks that high gain bite i wanted for that sick chunky sound. I like the pedal, but not really satisfied with the sound specifically for high gain saturated chunky riffing like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse or even Children of Bodom. Any suggestions? TC Fangs seems cool and Metal Muff seems okay. MXR Fullbore metal will probably do it.

This is a very late reply, but I've had both pedals (full size Metal Muff + Nano), and I think the Joyo wins. It's very well built, and very flexible in terms of tone. Less annoying midrange, and a bit more natural sounding, in my opinion. With my experience of playing a few different high gain distortion pedals (Boss Heavy Metal, Boss Metal Zone, DOD Grunge, MI Audio Crunch Box, etc.), I feel that it compares best with the MXR Fullbore Metal. My friend has one, and I can barely tell the difference. Plus, it's like half the price. Lastly, the bias control reminds me of my Blackstar amps. You can get all sorts of tones out of it, and the build quality is excellent!

@austinfailz, this is true, although I don't mind them I do think another "bees in a box" pedal is about the lamest thing the market needs right now. That and another ts9 lol.

@@martinsander7112 I think you dodged a bullet on that one. Uzi isn't any better than a classic overdrive. Which is fine if that's the tone you're chasing. Uzi should not be called distortion at all.

Ideal for me is humbucker in the bridge and single in the neck, no middle pickup. But that probably doesn't work for everyone. HSH is probably the most versatile.

And .......that's a problem? The company is a Chinese company that's supposed to be cheaper then the brands for people who can't afford for reasons. This isn't a company for innovation lol if you want that check out Abasi pedals or the Misha Mansoor pedals.
