Also your white ceiling will bounce light around as well to add fill. It will be harder if this is a restaurant or bar that usually has darker ceiling.
I've been working on a series of semi-scripted, documentary-style videos to engage my fans into more of my life aside from my music, and I think using high-key lighting will be a great way to set that content apart from my usual, more dramatically-lit singing videos and better convey the lighter mood of the reality series. Thank you for the great content as usual Brady!!
there is a reflection on oven behind the girl, if the main light can be higher position i think the reflection will gone. Btw thank u Brady, thanks for lighting tutorial set up class!
I love rimming, I used it in my Generic Millennial Programming concept clip. I didn't have a C-stabd though so I used boxes instead 😂😂😂 It came out though so, you gotta do what you can.
Grea t job! I think the more I do cinematography the darker and darker I like to go with my images 😂 I should definitely start doing some more high key stuff to switch things up!
so I literally just found you on ig and came here to find your channel and watched all your videos. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They are so calm to watch. They remind me of Danny Gavirtz videos.
Very nice video, Brady! As someone who does high key themselves, you nailed it. AND don't give those lenses back because I need to see more footage with them!
THANKS FOR THE CONTENT BRO I LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HOW YOU BREAK IT DOWN KEEP ON SHARING VIDEOS ABOUT LIGHTING YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST ON RU-vid CHEERS FROM MOROCCO
@@BradyBessette It really did! Showing the individual elements and how they make up a scene really bring the subject closer to understanding. Thank you for all the effort! :)
is it important to darken the scene from strong natural light that comes from the windows? does it harm the soft light we are trying to achieve? thank you brady!
Love it, thanks for sharing!! Would love you to do it high key lighting in office/corporate interview scene...like the banking/financial commercials !? :-)
@@BradyBessette nothing like a good refresher 📚, looks like music video vibe like 2010-2012. I like 😎. Now all music videos nowadays are all wide angle, It kills me 😔, good to see something with depth.
Watching it now in 2022, it's amazing to see how Aputure paved the way to launch useful products that killed the competition. I bet if you remade this video now we would have Aputure MCs and Amarans in the scene, conveniently manageable via SidusLink (great content by the way, I'm watching all the content on the channel haha)
So nice content, very well done and fun! What about giving us some samples of the footage do play around? to fill what u felt editing and color grading it?
What settings are you using in camera or what f stop. All other videos I see with the vazen anamorphic and the bmpcc 4K look ugly and soft, but all your videos look solid!?
Late comment here...I guess the DOF was more comparing to a wide open lens. However,ML60 outputs are very low comparing to other fixtures. What was the ISO ?
Professor. How would one go about a high key light for a night scene? For example lighting something to look like night but still have the happy feeling. I’m very curious. Or because it is night, the high key lighting isn’t possible?
Hey brady...can u tackle a flickering issue...i was recording out in the city and i notice this weird flickering in my frame...someone told me it was shutter not matching the light ....im kinda confused???
I have a question regarding your rig. I heard that to work properly with Cine lenses the Nucleus Nano required a quite powerful output (8-12V). Since your V-Mount Battery is feeding the BMPCC, how do your power the Nano? Thanks!
Hi there! Good question, I had gotten a camvate plate for my vmount so I run dtap out of the camvate to the nano. I had to get a different power cord to run dtap to... whatever the nano requires. It has quite some power! No problem on the Vazen 40mm
Tbh key light only felt the most naturalistic to me, I'd probably go with just that and maybe the hair light But I guess it's more of a style preference hahaha
Well it's a tutorial for high-key lighting. The look of the 'only key light' is nice, but you have a lot of shadows/contrast. Therefor maybe not 'the look', you and/or your client is looking for/expecting.
Love your content (I'm subscribed) and no shade to you, but😁 3:47 - "and that light had no modifier on it; *just the reflector dish that came with the light* " - umm😄..
Hi Brady - Real amateur with this stuff and your videos are so informative. Can I ask if the Godox Ml-60 is basically the same as Neewer SL-60? Thanks in advance
@@johnboy10 I debated over the two, and at the time the 6k was on sale, but I went 4k with metabones, slightly wider field of view, slightly brighter, and the option for 4K BRAW with full sensor , I don’t always need 6k
