Agnus Dei - What Wondrous Love
Traditional Mass Text, Traditional Folk Hymn Test (1811), Wondrous Love
Oh, Lamb of God,
What wondrous love is this, oh my soul?
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul?
Oh, Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world;
Have mercy on us.
When I was singing down beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown.
To God and to the Lamb I will sing,
To God and to the Lamb who is the great I Am;
While millions join the theme, I will sing.
Oh, Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world;
Have mercy on us.
Grant us thy peace.
