Why #Kentucky for these #Whiskeys? 🥃
We knew when High n Wicked was being conceived that our flagship Bourbon and Rye Whiskeys had to be from Kentucky.
Why? Because of agricultural 🌽 reasons, because of limestone rich water sources, because of the unique climate for maturation, but especially for the know how of the distillers in the area.
They're definitely part of the secret sauce, as that is what helps craft our high rye sweet mash Bourbon (51% Corn, 39% Rye, 10% Malted Barley) and our High Rye Rye Whiskey (91% Rye and 9% Malted Barley , distilled at New Riff Distilling) But the story doesn't end there.
We selected those particular distillers, mash bills and ultimately our maturation protocols, blend styles, and proof points based upon blind feedback from those we trusted in the industry - other distillers, blenders, sommeliers, bartenders and industry experts.
All of these things together help to construct the blend, which is done in batches of 30-50 barrels max, aiming to have a “what-the-f⁉️kiness” to our whiskeys. A not terribly spicy and fruit forward rye, and a spice bomb of a Bourbon.
